OP already paid for the True skates. Why not continue to try and get the issue resolved, especially on a skate that is known to work for his son? It sounds like the LHS needs to step up and do their part to resolve the remake issue.

Nice. Just for that I'm going to get a black frame for it in your honor.

Wife and son ordered this license plate for me for Father's Day. Didn't even know they existed. They get me.

Testimonial for Monty Hockey’s Blade Coating Service
Monty22 replied to bunnyman666's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Thank you for the kind words, happy to hear you are satisfied. The overdrive blades (or goalie blades in general) probably benefit from the enhanced edge retention more than player skates due to the higher likelihood of metal to metal contact. It's been great working with members of this site - thanks to JR for the opportunity. His initial response to a test set motivated me to move forward with this project. -
I'm curious to see the injury lists for both teams when they are released. I know O'Riley had a broken rib, and it's been floated that Bergeron had a groin issue. With Pasta I'm assuming there was some underlying injury- He didn't look right since coming back from the thumb injury. it's also possible that he became gunshy with all the physical play, especially in the finals.

I'd like to see Backus in the line up for game 7. They could use his physicality, and moving someone like Heinen out I don't think would make a difference.

Any recommendations for a patch vendor?
-
That was my initial suggestion, board had concern they wouldn't end up getting sewn on because people are lazy.

Flying into Denver and driving to Breckenridge area for vacation soon. Any shops around worth checking out near by or on the route?

My son's youth hockey organization is turning 50 this upcoming season. The Board wants to make available a commemorative patch for the jerseys that can be applied easily and removed without damage to the jersey. I thought of Pant Skinz and maybe have something printed on that, and went to their website. Sure enough they already offer custom logo options. Has anyone used pant skinz on a jersey (or even pants) and then removed them? Curious how mush adhesive residue remained and how difficult it was to remove. I'm also open to any ideas for other options. I think helmet decals would be the easiest way to go, but want to explore a jersey based option first. Thanks

Or $250- 350. OP will have no problem selling those for at least a couple hundred. New / like new Nike skates , gloves and helmets are still sought after by folks . Size 9 1/2, brand new with box- those will sell quick.

When Did You Get Bored With Acquiring New Hockey Gear?
Monty22 replied to beerleaguecaptain's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
If I recall correctly, Hespeler released black and NYR color scheme gloves patterned after Wayne's specs. I believe this was soon after he became involved in the company financially. The retail NYR ones had a white stripe across one of the lower two backrolls. -

The Vapor 10 , and maybe the 8 had the triangular cut outs on the steel, and it had a black finish. That was great quality steel and sharpened really well. The First generation LS2 holders had scalloped cuts on the bottom edge making it really difficult to hand stone. You may be thinking of the Tuuk V2 steel for the Custom + . It was "normal" width for the front 1/2 , and then was about half as thick from the middle to rear of the blade. Jay McKee used that stuff forever. -
Keep the faith brother. All of your internet friends are pulling for you.

Haven't skate dinline in years, and just picked up a pair of lightly used RPD Comp + to work out this summer with my son. It's just the boot and chassis. Could anyone confirm wheel size is 80mm? Also, I'll need bearings, spacers and cross bolts correct? Lastly, I'll be skating primarily on our asphalt driveway (fairly smooth, 2 years old) but hope to get over to an outdoor rink with sportcourt a couple times a week. Is there a wheel hardness that will work well on both? looking to avoid swapping two sets worth of skate wheels multiple times a week. Thanks

Try the "Buy" section of the gear exchange. Show it off is clearly not the correct thread.

I emailed for a set. $45 shipped to the US IIRC.

Sounds like the CCM FIT station.

When Did You Get Bored With Acquiring New Hockey Gear?
Monty22 replied to beerleaguecaptain's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
I wouldn't say I'm bored with it, but I don't get excited unless there is some true innovation. Getting VH skates and solving my fit issues that went back over a decade was exciting. Stuff like Flare steel , the Bauer/True/CCM quick release holders are intriguing to me. The True X-Core stick blade were a cool innovation that I was leery of but came around after trying it out at Summer Jam. At this point in my life it's hard for me to get excited about new release retail gear. I can't remember the last time I was in a big box shop. -
Those were my first gloves back in the day when I was a kid.
