  1. Strength training is all well and good, but throw in a decent amount of plyo and explosive movements as well. I think I'd focus 66-75% of workouts to lower body/back, but that's just me. And ALWAYS make the time to properly warm up and stretch, stretch, stretch. Make sure your diet can handle the increased workload and muscle mass too. This YouTube page has some great routines to help an aspiring hockey player. Good luck!! https://www.youtube.com/@pierreseliteperformance
  2. Milwaukee Admirals sale July 19. I’ll be early in line when it opens. I’ll work out requests if anyone is interested, but if you want a game jersey or practice jersey, very unlikely and very expensive.
  3. Bauer's Intermediate sizing on pants may be worth trying as well
  4. Learning and being proficient I. The over-skate is a must. Buys you lots of time and space to make plays. But like Dustin says, be aware of the strength of opposing D and your linemates
  5. I’ve never done it but I think you might be better off attaching it to the red vented part of the 37.5 liner than to the pad itself
  6. PSH has tall 100 flex Jordie Benn FT3 P90TM, would only be slightly stiffer, but half the price.

    Free Stuff

You pay shipping (from 53129), I’m purging the basement stash and hoping people can put some stuff to use Belle Tire AAA Warrior bag, senior size. Used, some rips, but lots left in it. Haven’t seen too many this style APX2 boots only. Size 7 C/AAA, the plastic guard on both tongues have horizontal cracks. One tendon guard is cracked, but the fabric around it is good enough that you do t notice unless you flex it with your hands. Holes for 272 Tuuks. would be decent for a more novice player who isn’t rough on their skates, or someone who wants to do a tongue swap project. TotalOne Reflex tongue inserts, X Stiff, brand new
  8. As Mark said, don’t get frustrated, the more you improve, the worse you’ll feel you are because you’ll recognize you can do better. But enjoy playing while you do. if I could give you any advice, it’s that 98% of the things you do on the ice stem from how well you skate. So take every chance you get to work on skating, strength and flexibility. Take every power skating opportunity you can. Utilize a little stick and puck session and before/after practice to throw in some skating drills. Michigan moves are cool and all but guys can pull those off because they’re fundamentally sound.
  9. I'm waiting on the date as well, late May, early June is what I've been told
  10. Adding an extra washer or two to the barrel nut may help that issue
  11. https://ultraslide.com/product/ultraslide-8/ Most of the speedskaters i know use this unit. If you utilize it regularly, well worth the investment in my opinion. I've never personally seen the Brrrn unit, but it looks a bit light (as though it may move side to side as you stride) and doesn't offer different width options like the ultra slide The stryd looks neat in theory but goes against every skating principle there is (pushing back behind you at a 45* angle)
  12. I held a Pasta/Fisher and P28 Bauer against eachother and could have easily been convinced they were identical blades edit: it was a Kucherov
  13. That’s a useful machine, I’d focus more on Adduction (coming together) than the abduction. you may find the most benefit from body weight stuff while your arm is immobilized. Things like TRX squats, particularly split squats with no weight. Once you can manipulate your arm you could toss in a very light weighted vest for resistance. some very low step ups and box jumps would be useful. Also focusing on exercises and stretches to improve ROM in the hip would benefit as well.
  14. Source for Sports has an SMU Vapor X Velocity skate that would be similar if not a slight upgrade as well
  15. 3 pair of Franchise on the sale block, more pics on request; 14” Phoenix, white cuff. Feels loose for a 14, Hossa cuff I believe it’s called. Palms are useable but will need some attention in the future. Thumbs were cut but DIY reattached, not by me. $85 + shipping 14” Phoenix all red Turris, darker than the ones above. Also loose fitting, palms in very useable shape. $115 + shipping 13” Navy and white. Very good shape palms, will use a small amount of undercuff reattaching. $115 + shipping CooperAll girdle brand new old stock CG3 Junior Medium. Bought sight unseen under the impression they were senior. Recouping my investment. $45 + shipping.
  16. I know I sound like “get off my lawn guy,” but coatings aside even I’ll take any aftermarket steel over Bauer’s current steel any day of the week
  17. https://sidelineswap.com/gear/hockey/holders-runners-replacement-steel/4197968-easton-parabolic-steel-ii-runners?referral_code=Zydo441 I believe this guy may have what you’re after
  18. All good points, do you prefer the dimensions of the senior or intermediate more? I'd start there
  19. https://sidelineswap.com/gear/hockey/sticks/6033204-ccm-rbz-speedburner-pavel-datsyuk-pro-stock-stick-detroit-red-wings?referral_code=Zydo441 this one looks more current than the big old oar paddle I remember him using
  20. A - they're probably noticeably heavier than current skates but if theres comfort, who cares B - that parabolic steel was notorious for breakage, I'd keep my eyes on SLS or similar and have a backup pair sooner rather than later C - LocTite the blade anchors so you dont lose one
  21. Early 2000's, I believe they were one model below the UL Pro and Z-Air with the horrible black/green carbon fiber holder https://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums/downloads/easton2002.pdf Some similar info there
  22. outside of finding someone who recently bought new and would part with the original footbeds, these may be the thinnest you'll find aftermarket https://www.purehockey.com/product/elite-hockey-pro-hockey-skate-insoles/itm/28243-2/
  23. There’s a Warrior W90 in the midrange pro sticks that I believe is a less open W03
  24. Size would matter too (as it usually does). I would Expect an 8.5 to sell for more than a 12EE
  25. By the time you get new holders and pay for installation, I’d consider going the custom route. Buy once, cry once.
