  1. This is odd. My right foot is about 1/4 to 1/2 a size smaller than my left and the two tf customs I had done you could see the boots were diff size. I could tell be the holders on the right reached further towards the end of the toe cap vs the left . If they made that adjustment with me you would assume 10000% you should be getting two different sizes skates. Did they come with the right foot with more toe plugs to accommodate for the diff length or did they not even do that? It's obvious they messed up. The scan should clearly show your size difference. Also. Did the store take pics of your foot on the true brannock? They're supposed to. That would be clear as day that ur feet are different sizes. Anyways, I don't see any other option but for true to remake. If they don't. Refund. For the most part, from what I've read True is usually pretty good with remakes. Totally disappointing. Which shop did you go to? I know some shops are way better in communicating with true regarding issues than others.
  2. It will work but unnecessary to have it double sided unless you want it for some reason. A fabric store will have a simple one sided hook and loop. Up to you though this will work but is just thicker bc it's double sided
  3. The thing is no retail skates are a perfect fit. And like you said bc of materials etc modern skates fit quite differently. Imo as long as ur heel is locked when you leave them the way you like them that's fine. I personally never had skates still lock my heel if completey unlaced. The graf skates you compare the jetspeeds to are so different. That era of skates you actually could break in. Modern skates you break ur feet in lol
  4. You skate with the top two eyelets undone? I've never had skates that locked in the heel completely with the top two eyelets undone.
  5. It's not just the foams that are thermoformable the shell is too especially with ccm and true skates. Bauer not as much but ccm and true for sure you can spot heat the area and literally take your thumb and deform the composite material. I find though, that true retails don't get as soft as the svh customs.
  6. So I'm childish because I used the word fuck and said you ruined your skates? Also, if you think I was being snarky and sarcastic with the using your thumb to push it out then you really don't know the options for "punching" out hot spots in modern day skates. You probably also thought I was making something up when I told you to try the "tissue" technique too eh?
  7. Waiting for the post where he got a heat gun and the boot is melted.
  8. Ya you fucked up man. Ccm skates are generally pretty pliable when warm and you should have been able to even use your thumb to press out the area. Or I would've tried the tissue technique first... What model are those, as the pliability on lower end models aren't as good as the higher end ccm skates. Nvm just read you used a blow dryer the first round? Buddy, stop before you damage the skates even more. You have no idea what you're doing.
  9. The loop Velcro on the tongues are trash. Just replace them with better ones.
  10. I wouldn't be surprised if all this ends up being Dave developing a skate for Warrior.
  11. Same with me. I prefer the old red blue combo vs the genetix. Prob the worst insoles for me even compared to any stock footbed. Way too thick and squishy. Totally defeats the purpose of a one piece boot and feeling more connected to the ice.
  12. Honestly for rec and beer league that is no contact who cares about that's stupid ratings.
  13. You can modify them yourself or just keep trying different tongues such as ccm xs tongues and Nash sniper tongue etc. All you need to do is attach Velcro to them and they'll attach to your skates. What don't you like about the two true tongues you posted.
  14. This was an informative reply to the OPs question.... To your analogy of not driving or showering at all is bogus. Not wearing a neck guard would be like not wearing your seat belt while driving or something similar in terms of reducing risk while partaking in the activity. Not driving at all would be more like not playing hockey at all. Also, neck injuries in hockey is way under reported. Only ones actually documented are probably the ones that cause severe injuries, and I doubt anything beer league related is even documented. But anyways....
  15. The integrated baselayer ones are no different than wearing a regular turtle neck or mock neck. It feels nothing like the foam padded bibs and collars. I chose the baselayer version bc this way it won't slide around and I don't have to worry about an additional piece of equipment. I'll play with it for the first time tonight and will advise if it makes me feel any hotter than without it. I don't see why it would as the materials these days are all dri fit. I was surprised to learn that kids in the US didn't have to wear these as they do in Canada. Like someone else mentioned, kids don't really know any better if they started out wearing these since day 1 and into adulthood. Same idea with grandfathering visors in the NHL. But the NHL still have guys who flip the visors above their eyebrows for style points. Makes no sense bc they grow up wearing a full cage or bubble then a visor in juniors. But once they get to the NHL they refuse to have anything covering their eyes... But I digress. Edit: I played my first game in the bauer baselayer with integrated neck guard and I'm going to eat my words earlier. It's much hotter. I also noticed the fabric on my neck more than I thought. I eventually got used to the feel but the inability to cool off efficiently is something I'm a bit concerned about as I was pretty drenched at the end of the game. I guess in retrospect it shouldn't have been a surprise as it's essentially doing the same thing as a neck warmer. Kevlar isn't really made to be exactly breathable either.
  16. When did I say you aren't allowed to preface. My reply commenting about the OPs preface was stating why he mentioned it in his post vs you hijacking this thread about neck guards with a post specifically about opinions regarding the incident. Like I said, if you are that curious and want to know what happened there are many articles and threads online about it. Even a video if you dare to watch.
  17. It's called a preface. And the second quote was a line added in a response that actually had input about neck guards for the majority of the post, unlike yours.
  18. Pretty sure you can find all you need to about it online regarding whether it was deliberate. Or just watch it yourself if you really actually think there's a chance another player intentionally murdered another while playing. Now let's get back to talking about neck guards. If you want a conversation about the incident start another topic or go on Reddit.
  19. I know, I'm just saying the price difference for mrsp for the average person.
  20. 580 for custom version isn't that much more than the retail version
  21. It was always the recommendation that if retail skates for you fine stick with them. My next skates will be retail since true makes retail now, and the fact Bauer and ccm are finally on board with comfort being a priority as well. The Mach skates were a huge win for Bauer in the comfort category
  22. I'd be surprised if it's actually a proto and not a different model Bauer under. You think he'd jump from an old trigger to a special edition sub 360 gram stick?
