good fitting and it being comfortable is one thing, but like you experienced, the mach boot is pitched a bit diff than the ccms u had and even the hyperlites. Supreme line is known to put you more on your heels.

It's always a bit weird not only going to another completely different skate but a brand new skate that hasn't broken in. Even if you wore a brand new version of your old ccms it would still take some getting used to as the foams and tongue aren't as formed and broken in as your current skates.

Don't be fooled. They literally are just slapping a layer of carbon fiber over the original shells to mitigate premature cracking of the shell that has been documented with the cat and tf retail skates. That's also the thing. If you don't have issues with Bauer or ccm, then stick with them. I went to true in 2017 and the comfort made me really sensitive to any fit issues almost like my callouses and toughened areas went away and now most retail boots hurt my feet some form or another. Kind of sucks tbh as I want to go back to Bauer since true products break down faster than I would like.

They for sure have slightly different hole patterns from 263 to 271/272. Like you said though any competent shop can do it no problem. Personally I just hate the thought of having so many holes in a brand new boot.

It does make it whippier. People that want to argue just because it doesn't technically change "flex" is bc flex ratings are tested at the exact same points on a stick so it doesn't change the "flex rating" at for example, 50 inches from the heel. But when you and I talk about how a extending or shortening stick changes the flex, we obviously mean the perceived flex at the very butt end of the stick and our bottom hand.

If you want to save a few hundred look into the m5 pro. Still a very good skates without the bells and whistles. Fit is pretty much the same. I tried both on and couldn't really tell the difference. You're right in that the quality for Bauer now may not be the same as before but they still make skates that area more durable than true.

Honestly from what I have seen and experienced, true skates will last maybe five years. Obviously there are exceptions but the tf9 for sure wont last longer than that. The tf9 has known cracking issues for sure. For me, I've taken pucks off the shift max holders and they've held up great. But my catalyst pro skates, I took a hard pass off the inside of the boot near the toe cap and the outer carbon layer cracked. The area was still stiff so I think it was just the weave layer and I was able to fix it by sanding it a bit and putting on a layer of epoxy but the fact a pass did that damage tells me that the prefabricated shells for the catalyst, tf9, and probably now the hzrdus aren't going to be very durable, unless they improved durability for the hzrdus line but I'm not holding my breath. True seems to not really care about improving durability. All you have to do is look at their sticks. What sucks me in is that true has great performing skates and sticks when they aren't broken... If I were you I'd try to find the same nexus skates online in your size or stuck with Bauer. The curv composite is very durable

I think that's just what products are like these days. Doesn't matter if it's hockey equipment or cars. Quality is jus trash.

Hmmm I messaged them on ig and they didn't answer the stopping the buildup of snow but said it does NOT prevent the tape from getting wet but stays tacky.... I'll wait for the reviews on here since the only reason I use wax is to repel snow /ice and to prevent the tape from getting wet.

Does this prevent snow buildup or is this strictly just for tackiness.

Blacked out anything looks way better lol. I personally don't mind the red in the ft6 pro. Looks better than the ft4 pro. Nowadays, since most skate graphics are screened on, it's also very easy to cover with some vinyl.

Was able to try the gloves the other day. I like how snug they are. But it seems like I'm in between sizes. 14" was a touch on the long side. Honestly they're probably the same as my ft1s. They always feel great new but once the foams pack in the 14s do seem a bit too big. As for the 13, they weren't as short as the ft1 13s. But it was right at the cusp. The one thing I did notice which makes me stray away from the 13 is the cuff is noticeably smaller and also I'm worried it's too short and won't cover my forearm well. It's a shame. I'll prob stick to looking for pro stock 13s since those generally fit perfect as they run closer to 13.5.

What sizes do you wear for warrior and Bauer ?

Looking forward to hearing your experience! This is pretty much me with the new warrior alpha lx pro gloves. The alpha would be my go to but there's an area in the pinky that rubs for me 😔. Otherwise love the overall fit and feel of the glove.

Are the gloves sized the same as the ft1 and ft4? I know other brands have been trending into fitting on the larger side, ie I got a 14" in the ft1 but with Bauer and warrior I fit a 13" now. Online has the most selection so I won't really have the luxury of trying in store

This happened to mine. It's just the rubber seals inside the holders blade channel rubbing against the steel. It will go away at some point after some skating or what I did was just put a bit of Vaseline on the top sides of the steel where it goes in the channel and it'll stop the squeaking. It's nothing bad and won't affect performance just annoying sounding.

And ls2s were one of my all time favorites!

The liner and tongue are completely diff. But from esthetics stand point I'd get the ft6 based on the fact I think the asv are horrendous looking. They had a good thin going with tht as3 and made the asv looks ridiculous. Looks like robot skates. And don't get me started on the camo

So I got around to making my templates and putting on one side to see how they look. Here's a pic on my cat pros. I just just the kydex as a practice set. My next ones will definitely be the cf weave holstex which will look much better and make it look seamless and not noticeable at all. It actually took me longer than I thought. Cutting the kydex with my Dremel was quite messy with the plastic dust. In the future I may heat up the kydex and cut it with an olds which seemed to have worked quite well and like a hot knife in butter when I was doing some minor adjustments after the initial cut. I weighed the pieces and it adds about 60 grams per skate. Well see if I notice it skating. I used a heat gun and not the oven as I knew I wasn't going to be able to mold it in one shot bc of all the curves and the fact the kydex cools and gets stuff pretty fast. Was a bit tedious spot heat gunning and forming but oh well. I'll finish the other side and other skate tomorrow. VID-20230514-WA0003.mp4

Spray it out on a cup then use a paint brush. You can also use leather dye or acrylic/oil based paint pens.

I just ordered the holstex sheets as I like the carbon fiber look. Too bad Amazon Canada doesn't have the kydex carbon fiber pattern or holstex. Ended up ordering from a Canadian site and shipping was almost as much as the item. Just under $50 for 12*48 holstex vs $23 shipped for kydex on Amazon. Oh well. Still way cheaper than getting it done at a shop. Btw, what bit should I use with my Dremel when cutting out the pattern. Just their general cutting wheel bit?
