Nike/Bauer ONE95/ONE75 Skates

Recommended Posts

And just FYI, the One95 goalie skate is built using the same materials, but on the old Supreme-series last with a nylon cowling (no more spidered lucite!) and stainless blades that are apparently not that horrible.

That is Awesome news. Any pics of these yet? or what pros are wearin em? I didn't see anything in the goalie section. Will there be lower end lines, One 75 etc like the player lines? and any MSRPs on them? I'd ask when they'll be out, but I assume in the spring, right?

Was in Bangkok for a tournament this week and their pro shop had a pair of One95, Supreme 75? and a pair of "Comp" skates. They only had them in 8D though, so I don't think it's officially out there. They were selling them for about 22000baht which is about $1000 sing dollars or US$700. I thought the Comps were the best out of those skates but I could be wrong.

Still prefer the look of a simple black and white skate

ya. Nothing is nicer / cleaner then a black / white skate black laces and nice black holders. actually thinking of it kinda turned me on... weird.

What were the "Comps"? Have we seen pics of those before?

Hey JR...since you have seen them and have a keen eye...

It looks like the quarters have some sort of plastic/clear coating over waht used to be the exposed texallium mesh. Was that done to improve durability? How is the boot compared to the One90 in terms of stiffness at the top of the boot? Just curious to your impressions.

As far as the 08 catalog goes...hope one bad apple didn't spoil the whole bunch...not to quote an old Jackson 5 tune...but seriously hope one of us did not cause any trouble...as that has been known to happen from time to time.

When i tried the One90 on, it somehow felt cheap on my feet. Like some Walmart skate. Maybe cause the skate wasnt baked, but i was dissapointed. I wonder how the 95 will treat on me. As for now, im very interested in buying them (if they will have 8090ish volume)

My experience as well.......Just a ton of little pressure points jabbing my feet all over. I took that to mean they just werent right for me.

Never buy a skate that doesn't feel "right" out of the box and then expect by baking it, tweaking it, and using it you can make it feel right. If the skate is not meant to fit your foot, it won't. I tried on this year's Vector 10 SE in my size when the Guts and Glory van was here. It didn't feel "right" out of the box. There was no way I would buy a skate if it didn't feel right out of the box.

The gloss you see on the ONE95 quarter is a feature/property of the ALIVE composite upper. It is a pro boot, therefore it is plenty stiff for the pro level.

New material...if I say what it is you'll understand why the skate price is going up.

Haha...

Actually, I'm not sure, I didn't check the tag. I would imagine 95 would be Canadian-made, as was the 90.

NBH makes their other skates in Thailand, not China.

Wow. Best looking skates to date IMO.

Very clean. I liked the looks of the pro-stocks that they mocked up to look like one90s. I think this is a nice median between the two.
