Pro Equipment Sales

Recommended Posts

Do you know what kind of stuff will be up there?

Front the website (I know Drew might know more specifics):

" Fans will be able to purchase Americans used player equipment, such as sticks, gloves, pants, etc., in addition to game-worn jerseys. Team photos, highlight DVDs from the inaugural season and Southern Conference Champions merchandise will also be on sale. "

for this past wkend's Toronto Maple Leafs sale, does anyone know what stores will buy the leftover stock (or even had first dibs before the event) at the sale in the GTA area? I'm hoping they will sell some items for less than what was marked at the TML sale.

Robert Morris University Colonials' Equipment Sale:

rmusale2010.jpg

The prices last year were very reasonable:

gloves $25

shafts $25

sticks $50

The prices also got lowered as the sale went on. They were practically giving away wood tapered blades by the end of the sale.

I guess i picked a good weekend to come to Pittsburgh, I'm gonna have my brother hit up the sale early and then I'm gonna try to get over there over the weekend to see what's left over

does anyone know te dates of the rangers islanders and devils sales?

Tee dates? I would presume for the Rangers and Islanders it would have been around mid-April. For the Devils some time in early May. Fore!

Rangers don't have one, Isles is at their draft party on the 25th and the Devils someone posted something about theirs a couple pages back. I don't remember the exact details

went to look at the stuff at the Leafs sale. Not really a good sale but interesting to look at. One room for equipment and one room for sticks. They had so many sticks that all four walls were pretty much covered. First time seeing so many brand new hockey sticks, helmets and gloves. Usually everything is used.

Judging that it was a Stealth, and that it was a toe curve I'm gonna say yes. In an article in THN it describes that he loves the "Easton Stealth with his own toe curve to cradle the puck". And for anybody who's been to Canucks sales, is it anything like this? Like the other guy said.

This thread got me wondering, players dont get to keep their gear? What do they use in the off season?

I know the Penguins get a set of their gear to take, "home," with them for the off-season. There are pictures at the end of every season of their gear sitting in their travel bags next to their locker stalls at the end of the year. Technically, a lot of what they use is not, "theirs," as the team pays for everything. It's the same thing as the paper-clips and stapler on, "your," desk at work. You use them every day, for all intents and purposes they belong to you while you're in the work place, but in the grand scheme of things they belong to your place of employment. This idea is why there is so much gear sold off at these team sales.

Very true.

Also the players who on the payrolls for gear companies can do whatever they want with them. The team has no say over it unless they are the ones who bought it. Think Ilya Kovalchuk and Warrior. You'll almost never see a current pair of his gloves show up anywhere for sale. Extremely rare if you do.

Would Iggy and his old synergys be the same case?

Key word being old. He has no use for them anymore. He's not going to take them unless he wants them.

Also you'll see alot of the gear autographed and donated to charities for auctions/sick kids/etc.
