Going back to the Old

Recommended Posts

Sorry the Dolo is NOT the old XX.... It may be made similar but Not the same product. Just like the Easton ST and SL or SI-Cor arent the same as the orig Synergy... Thats what makes these classics, classics.

Yeah I've used two Dolomites and a Dolo2 blade. It's been a while since I used a Dolo though, and the Vapor XX brought back some memories. I believe it was a Gagne curve I was using, and if I could find a couple of em, I'd definitely pick em up.

I went throught probably 4 Gange Vapor XX's... *sigh*

Funny what some people will pay for their "old" favorites too. I had a couple of VaporXX in the store that I had forgot to mark down. Guy comes in, sees his favorite stick, snatches up both of them and gladly pays full price.

I had a few pro stock 03/04 synergy that i loved. kick myself for getting rid of those. At one point i had 4 iginla prostock st's and took 2 back cause i figured i wouldnt use them. what a mistake that was i fell in love with those and just had to get rid of the last one after almost 2 years of use, what tanks those were. Ive tried many different sticks to try and find something that compairs and the only thing that has come close was a 95 flex UL with a pro zcarb blade and recently some pro SE's i picked up. needless to say i loaded up on the SE's

I have a broken original gold synergy that I turned into a shaft a long long time ago. The thing was a 110 flex and I swear it feels like an 80 now. Still, I swear that on some of the shots that come off it are harder than I'll ever shoot with anything else. It's probably all in my head, that thing was my baby ^.^

yeah I've got the same thing...feels pretty whippy. This thread is teasing me, the only older stick ive been able to hold onto is my synthesis grip from 5 years ago ill hold onto for a while but reading this makes me want to find an old griplite, i used to love the brown and green u'ls but I'm liking the grip nowadays. If anyones into the old green t-flex shafts I know hockeyworld in london, on has got 4 of them.

That's why I stocked up on the R2XN10s when I had the chance. 2 in rotation and four more in the closet.

I had an old Easton Aluminum with an Easton Kariya blade. That was my favourite stick. I had an awesome shot and it felt so nice to hold.

:P When I was younger playing house league in the 90's Easton had a kariya 2 peice out. I had like 5 of them :P IT was a pretty straight blade and the shaft was a sable sort of purple/green. I loved those :)

I've gone through a ton of high end sticks searching for best puck feel. The current winner is the ti pro but it can't quite match the good old, cheap woodies. I'm thinking about going back to classic wood, shoot me now<.

TPS XN10... hands down the best stick I've ever used.. if only they still had some dirty prostocks laying around... I think i would kill for one of those.

What's wrong with that? Use what's comfortable.

Another one up for the XN10. Its pretty much impossible to find them in a Lidstrom or Drury curve now, id pick up the R2XN10 but, I have not seen one in over a year.

So were 4 pages deep in this thread and I think it's safe to say that marketing is what we are all suckers for. We have a great product at the time. We love it, use it and just as quickly sell it of dump it for the newest but not the greatest thing. I guess that the marketing companies are doing their job eh. Just goes to show that you dont know what you got til it's gone. First my X now hockey sticks. HAHAHAHAHA!!! Let this be a lesson to you kids out there. Save your money and stick with what feels good.

I thought they were exactly the same, repainted.
Next time you should use the quote feature so people know what you are talking about.
