Bauer 2010/2011 sneak peek...

Recommended Posts

Didn't see this posted anywhere but a possible first looks at some new Bauer gear... unconfirmed. Maybe someone "in the know" might like to chime in... Pics came from the Goalie Store board.

..yes I realize the last pair of skates are not goalie equipment. Thought I'd put it up for all you player types. :)

Nice grab. I know this may be a repetitive question but is this the TotalOne, or the next supreme line skate?

edit: name of the skate eluded me

Interesting... but it still doesn't look like they've extended the ALIVE tech to the goalie boots, which is extremely disappointing. I've tried the player skates, and they really are superbly responsive - exactly what I want in the crease. Still, I don't especially fancy fitting another boot off an LS-pitched carbon-fibre sole into a cowling (the first time was agony enough). I know that goalie skates demand more generalised last, but why hasn't Bauer migrated ALIVE to the goalie line?

I wonder why bauer is spitting out these gold/yellow accents? I can't imagine the young players/PHEW demog. is going to be crazy about it.

LG, would using ALIVE make that big of a difference for the majority of the tenders to use the skates? If so, maybe they don't see a demand for it?

Wouldn't surprise me much. I was holding some size 11EE One95 while getting my 11.5EE NME's baked and I'd say the NME's were noticeably lighter... though you could never call the One95 heavy!

It would make a huge difference. If anything, a more responsive skate makes a bigger difference to a tender.

The problem seems to be (and I use 'seems' speculatively) that every brand on earth uses one last per goalie skate - so that one last has to fit the majority of feet as well as possible For whatever reason, Bauer doesn't feel that this construction will work in this last.

Ah, that'd do it. Always the problem with goalie gear - the specialised tooling kills it on one end, and the >10:1 ratio of players to goalies on the retail end kills it there too.
