starsfan71 9 Report post Posted October 20, 2009 I hate it when fans decide to wear jerseys that have nothing to do with the teams that are playing that night's game. For example if the game is a Thrashers-Capitals outing, I shouldn't have to see Modano, Gomez, or any other teams' jersey in the stadium. However if they have a Knuble Flyers jersey, or a Antropov leafs jersey it is somewhat acceptable. But still go out and buy a new jersey.I wear my russian Jersey to Stars games, because it's really the only jersey I have that's not one that I play in that still fits me. I just don't have the money to buy a new Stars Jersey =(.
FITLTID 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2009 can you speak to the passion and life long dedication to teams that hardcore soccer fans in europe have?thats what i witnessed at madison square garden.dude got razzed for wearing another teams jersey. it's almost to be expected.I goto school in NYC but grew up in Jersey and is a huge Devils fan. Last night, the Devils held their skate/autograph session for the Gold Circle Members and I was coming back with my girlfriend and a friend and we got into Penn just as the Ranger game was getting out. Obviously, I was decked in Devils gear from the the autograph session and besides the looks and small comments that I know we're gonna get, these two Ranger fans took in the next even further. Walking away from the garden, they literally followed us from the other side of the street screaming "Devils Faggots" and other things along those lines. I usually don't really talk back to these people but they kept doing it so finally I just yelled back, "our teams didn't even play each other and the Sharks just destroyed you guys" and got a couple chuckles from other Ranger fans around me. That shouldn't happen. Not to mention the fact that I have been chased out of my seats from MSG to clap when the Devils scored a few years ago because a drunk Ranger fan was coming at us. I don't see how that's okay...
DEATHTRON 19 Report post Posted October 21, 2009 (edited) The time Drew and I were at a Stars playoff game against Detroit comes to mind. reyno2ac 0 Report post Posted October 22, 2009 Being one of the maybe 8 guys in our league of 4 teams that wears a shield I understand I'm taking a risk by dong so, but I expect the occasional stick or puck. Let me set the scene for you, were playing a team in the C league that has 4-5 players that should be in the B or A. A couple of them actually do play in A too, we got him kicked off the team after the first time we played him yet somehow none of the refs knew anything about it tonight because he was in a different number. To start the game I get pushed into their goalies crease by a guy about a foot taller than me, I'm short, so they blow the play dead and ruin a scoring chance. Later the same guy cross checks me in the back so I turn to push him out of our crease, note the lack of whistle here, and its starts a little scrum after the whistle. We push a little and start to skate away when all of a sudden another guy on their team skates up from behind me and sucker punches me in the mouth, again I wear a shield, with his gloves still on. So I turn and get in his face while someone else from their team skates by and shoves me, he does the typical routine and decides he wants to fight me. I drop my gloves and proceed to comply with is wish, he skates away. I end up with a match penalty for roughing and so does he. How is it that three of their players push/punch/shove me and only one gets a penalty? And to make the game that much better the puck dribbles out into the slot and I rip a shot...off the goalies face and up into the netting. Our center wins the next face off straight to me and I blast a rocket...right off the damn crossbar. We ended up losing 10-4, ah the joys of a C league team playing an A/B league team... LkptTiger 1 Report post Posted October 22, 2009 Computer crashed...apparently I had/have a little problem known in tech-circles as "The Blue Screen of Death" - and it is a bitch. My computer was completely frozen. I had to completely re-install XP (which means I lost EVERYTHING) - but I had to fool with my BIOS and boot sequences to even get my computer to read the disk before shutting itself down (upon start-up, lol). Apparently this little issue presents pretty sizable problems for very computer-savvy people. I am probably the least tech-savvy, most computer-illiterate person between the ages of 7 and 40...so you can imagine how much fun I'm having. It would be a Hell of a lot easier if my optical drive was working properly (not reading disks), and it would be more enjoyable if my computer would recognize and acknowledge the fact that my speakers are plugged-in and turned on.I'm about *this* close to unplugging the tower, taking the thing for a little walk and throwing it into the Erie Canal (about a mile from my house). I have a few spares around the house I believe.I've also got a WD IDE HDD that I'm not using. It's old and might not be reliable, but it'll be enough to do a second install on in case you get toasted again and need a backup.

LkptTiger 1 Report post Posted October 22, 2009 I'm not spending more money on this machine. I just spent $140 getting viruses removed after they attacked when I turned my computer on for the first time in months...then I get slapped by this BSOD within two days of picking it up from the tech shop. I'm going to start setting some cash aside; maybe I'll buy myself an iMac after Christmas.*Update: Audio driver re-installed; speakers (and headphones) working.*

Loaded up with ringers, it's pathetic. ANd how come they get a new guy last week? We have the shortest bench in the league and we're in last place, they're in first place and they get to pick up free agents even though the rosters are supposed to be frozen.
