I feel like I've been blowing this thread up lately, which is pretty detrimental on my wallet. But, I got the LAST pieces of equipment and now I'm totally comfortable with my new setup. APX2 protective gear came in. Can't wait to try it all out, especially going from entry level equipment to a bunch of APX2 stuff with 37.5.

It is very possible the flames sale is all used stuff, I'll admit, I've never been. The Oilers one generally has a mix of new and used gear. If one has a bit of knowledge on pro stock stick codes, you can be familiar with what you are actually getting, and just hope you don't get a dud stick that breaks easy ;)

UPDATE: We should be receiving our Shanahan sample blade tomorrow, at which time it will be digitized and we'll start producing the moulds. The first orders should be delivered in around 6 weeks!

Also should mention the Flames annual equipment sale is this Saturday at the Saddledome. Their prices (in the link below) make it so tempting to make the drive down, but I should be responsible :( http://flames.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=883913

I broke my foot about a year ago and couldn't find any skates that fit very well. I was in Toronto tis past weekend and took a shot at the team store in the ACC. I ended up getting a pair of Phaneuf CCM Tacks with Tuuk Lightspeed holders/step steel runners that are barely broken in for $282.50 canadian out the door. The guy I dealt with there said that he would wear a pair of skates for 13-15 games before changing them out.

The Oilers are having their annual sale (With some bonus rexall place items that they dont want to move to the new arena) Sunday June 12, 10am-1pm Mountain time for non season ticket holders. People will be lining up for $400 Connor McDavid game used sticks is my guess, as they did for Nugent-Hopkins ones in years past.

I was laid off yesterday. :/ (After 4.5 year) then freaked out about having to interview again, ran to the barber, and took 6+ inches off the beard. (full disclosure, i was looking for a new job anyway since the Co. was faltering. but its nicer to find a job while you still have one.) bright side, i should have enough severance to carry me thru Summer Jam :) oh how i miss worki... err, my beard.

Despair-thickets ain't no joke. Just this morning am beginning to see the light again after my performance this past Monday night. I'm doing the same thing, taking a week off and then I'm going to hit it hard next week.

Our Shanahan blade will be an Easton clone, square toe, lie 6 in left and right. It will be available in .520 tapered blade or OPS. 3 blade flex options will also be available for this. Ordering information is located in the original post. Keep posting requests... new possibilities in the future.

I've had the RBZs for a couple of seasons now and the length of the forearm guard was my biggest issue with these pads. They run very short. Overall, they're the best elbow pads I've ever used (and I've tried almost everything there is out there). However, I'm tired of taking slashes on the forearm, I've retired the RBZ's and have now gone towards a more protective pad (Easton Pro 10). I also saw the Quicklite's today in the store, they are identical to the RBZ's in terms of the slash guard length.

It is a shame. As a Graf user I have always had positive experiences with Graf skates (currently in G9035)I also like to support the smaller independent guys Base, True, Eagle, tackla, etc as they offered something different to the table. I know economics play a large part but it was nice to have the options out there.
