  1. Probably because when these skates launch the stick will be on the AS3 at that time. Simple solution is to stop with new sticks every year. Since Bauer stopped yearly refresh cycles for sticks I have a feeling CCM will stop in a few cycles.
  2. Some people definitely have unrealistic expectations, but I always tell them if your feet are numb when while you skate or you can't stand on them for a bit after you skate something is wrong.
  3. Did you have to pay to send those back? Or did they cover shipping.
  4. The best part about True skates is when you have at least 3 people every time comment "you should know by now there are QC issues" or "these are cosmetic and will have no affect on performance"... etc... etc instead of saying "Yeah they should change this"
  5. No, I shouldn't because at this point it is possible weight distribution and just throwing them on the scale won't do anything for that. When I have both skates on at the same time and can feel a difference with every time I lift my foot I think talking about the weight thing is valid. Something that people don't understand is being critical doesn't mean a product is bad. The fit and finish of these skates is horrendously bad and if Bauer did the same thing people would rip them apart. I asked for extra room in the toe box as I don't want my toes touching the ends when I am standing still, Trues solution to this was just to remove the black layer of foam in the toe box and not actually make the skate slightly longer. They were still too tight so I took out the red piece of foam as well. Doing so ripped out a decent chunk of plastic wrapping... that shouldn't be a thing and there is a reason why True tells you "make sure you go in the back when removing the foam in the toe box." True makes a unique product that has a niche, but they also could do a bunch of things better that people really shouldn't be excusing them for. Instead of saying "this wear on your leather is fine and is just aesthetics on your $1000 skate" True should do better QC. But based on their new protective line and gloves I think it is pretty obvious True ignores majority of critical feedback. At the end of the day I still bought True skates, and this will be my 2nd pair. But I'll always point out things where there could be improvement, I would also kill to have a comfort edge on True skates... You thoughts are what everyone should expect.
  6. Yes, they feel the same in your hand but feel way heavier on my foot.
  7. I got the new skates and holders. The fit and finish and QC is still hilariously bad. I have fibres chipping from the heel straight out of the box, either they didn't put a gloss coat on them or they missed spots. While the skates are lighter, my FT2 still feel WAY lighter on my feet when wearing them side by side.
  8. T90 line is more in line with the Project 9 isn't it? I would be looking at Sherwoods other sticks for a T90esk
  9. When I used the normal stock strapping (mediumly tight elastics) on the 1X I need a boot strap to almost act as a pulley system that would rotate the pad. The strap was loose but it would slide under the heel and rotate back correctly. When I went to a much looser strapping system I didn't need the bootstrap. So it still has it's usage even when loose.
  10. Can you make posts on the forum when you make your appearances? That way we can track you and make sure we don't miss any.
  11. Podcast! I'd love to hear some of your thoughts on new gear or any going ons about hockey.
  12. I have that damage on my goalie skates from what I imagine posts or pucks. No issues over a year in with it.
  13. I personally believe if you need to use beeswax or sno-seal maybe they should re-work the interior... I have never had issues with wet skates though, but my skates are goalie skates so maybe that has something to do with it.
  14. If an NHLer blocked a shot in an FT1 I have a feeling there is a 90% chance in a broken bone.
  15. Finally got around to getting my soccer gear out of my hockey shelf... Just need to move it into better lighting once the basement gets cleaned up.
  16. I know you said you are done with this thread. But I'd be curious what you would put me in. I've tried FT1, AS1 and I still have foot pain in both skates, especially if I don't wear extremely thin socks. Only skates so far I am generally comfortable in after skating are my True goalie skates, but even those hurt like hell if I tighten the laces lower on the foot.
  17. I sort of disagree, I think the internals are more comfortable since they added the "buttersoft" portion of the Alpha. But the externals and actually flexibility of the glove I totally agree.
  18. Did you get the added protection in them? I've gotten hit a few times on the skates but have never felt anything, not sure if that is luck or what.
  19. Can we see the back?
  20. Yeah, I have my order already. They return calls in order of them receiving the calls. I called basically an hour after they posted everything up. I posted the link a day after it was up so there is probably a big list. Last time they did it, a bunch of sellers and stores on sidelineswap bought a tonne of their inventory to flip. So if you see any flames socks chances are they paid $1 Canadian for them.
  21. Everything on the site is orders they take over the phone and shipped. I think it is free shipping within Canada for over $100 orders.
  22. Flames sale is online now. Some massive jersey steals, $50 for team issued jersey with names/numbers (obviously not big names). $40 for blank team issued jerseys. $20 for numbered practice jerseys and $40 for named practice jerseys. You have to call the store, leave a message with your name and number and they call you back and you tell them what you'd like to order. I didn't really look through the equipment section so can't comment on those prices/deals. http://www.flamesport.com/store/content/306/equipment-sale-2018/
  23. I completely agree with you, I have had people tell me they thought the toe on the Quads was too much for them. It took me a good 3 skates until I stopped transitioning with the toes and I was comfortably not loosing my balance.
