Just wait until they catch up with Bauer's decision and they will spread them out... Then they will change the names of their top end products to something unique to differentiate from the other brands that added "Pro" to their lines. 😆

How should this 3 vs 2 been played?
Hills replied to VegasHockey's topic in General Hockey Discussions
Ah yes, it comes down to the goalie after the D gets blown by without any resistance on the puck carrier 😆 -

The offensive player was skating BACKWARDS. You don't have to pinch on the blue line and stand your ground there, you can stay slightly behind them since they can't see where you are and you pinch after the pass is made... The player 25 stopped the pass for was also not skating when that pass came, if the backwards skating forward tipped the puck by it wasn't like his teammate was mid stride and would be flying gone... they didn't start skating until he realized his backwards skating teammate dropped the puck for him. -

This is hilarious. The guy in the neutral zone caught the puck skating backwards... which means #25 could've easily stepped up on him when the puck was coming or when he got it. Skating backwards means having no clue if someone is actually coming up behind you or not. Then, #25 should actually learn how to skate backwards and use cross-overs and learn how to pivot. Shooter was basically already by #25 at the top of the circle, feet still planted forwards and 0 active movement, just swinging his stick. Doesn't even go for the puck once, just swings it at the player's midsection. #3 should've covered the center of the ice closer to the hash, but that player scoring wasn't their man at all. Also, cross crease in tight like those are annoying as a goalie... so many options and a players skating fast going East-West are hard to keep up with, this was a decent move stopping up and pulling it back. Goalie had to commit because of the speed for the cross crease play, and the opponent pulled a nice move. If the shooter had any pressure at all they wouldn't be able to pull that off. -
It is a solid stick, but like other Sher-wood sticks I wouldn't expect performance like the top of CCM/Bauer/Warrior. It feels like a slight tier down to me. But I love the grip and the new stiffer blade compared to the EK60.
-
Which also makes sense that 99% of the guys that can blow pucks by me are using Supreme, Nexus, Tacks, Jetspeed.
-
I don't even look at it as "low kick gets off faster so goalie has less of a time to react." It's more of "I have less time to ensure proper technique and load so low kicks allow me to just quickly fling it at the net trying to get around legs or a block." The shot ends up being more consistent as the stick does more of the work for me.
-
I shoot slower with the low-licks than I do the Supremes and Tacks. But it is way easier to get off quickly and consistently, where as I really have to load the Tacks and Supreme to get a good shot off. But it comes off a few MPH faster.

I was expecting thinner like the old Bauer tongues. These still feel a bit thick for my liking as if I crank the laces I start to get lace bite near my instep. I enjoy the tongue more than the stock one though just for the lower profile.
-
Is it the newest one? I thought they were called thin pro or something that is why I am asking

Nah, get the 1X knee guards. Cheaper and they come with a girdle to hold them up. Way less bulky too but equally protective and slightly less comfy.
-
Yup! Did you check your floor to knee measurement before picking them?
-
34 V3 is probably about a 32 in modern CCM. V3 pads would break down and get smaller over time, and CCM plays a bit bigger than other brands in terms of sizing (especially old Vaughns).
-
I really want a legit one. Might one day be worth as much as a Fisherman jersey haha.

Any shin guards with good knee protection?
Hills replied to Utterkaos94's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
The biggest disappointment was when I brought it up to multiple CCM reps and they shrugged their shoulders... the pro stock Tacks shin guards are so much better for knee padding. -

That is why I added Poron shot blockers to the inside of the knee. CCM really thinned out the foams there to show off the D3O from the 20K to the Ultra Tacks. Super disappointing they haven't really addressed it. -
The jerseys though!
-
I find it interesting that CCM's community question site had a questionnaire the day this happened asking whether or not they would switch skates if they couldn't use a steel they preferred.
-
But the majority of people swapping CCM steel aren't in the equivalent skates as LS1...

Did the Octogun expand outwards?

Both of the JRZ gloves are basically the same as each other. Just a 1 piece cuff vs 2 piece. Unfortunately there isn't a JRZ glove that will be close to that V8 that Vaughn makes. JRZ gloves are closest to the V8 XP

I wish you the best of luck!

It bulges outwards, like a snake swallowing an egg.

Not even close... the taper is completely different than anything I have seen before.
