When I play on really bad soft ice (twice a week) I really notice a difference between the polished steel and the non-polished. Hyper-glide would legitimately glide better on the poor ice than the CCM Blacksteel would with the same sharpening.

Usually companies don't release multiple products within a few months of each other with the opposite naming conventions. Plus, swapping Pro from the 2nd tier price point to the top tier is confusing people more than feeling like they are getting something fresh.
-
The confusing part is CCM decided to change their naming convention so they have 0 consistency.
-
Does that mean the DX SL wouldn't have the same "one piece" construction as the non-SL version? Or is the True1 not referencing a 1 piece stick.

Verbero Mercury socks are super comfortable and often go on sale for 50% off. Thicker sock compared to the really thin ones though.

Why don't manufacturers use Poron or D30 in skates?

I was trying to give them the slight benefit of the doubt haha -

I never understood D3O on the tongue of a goal skate... that would never be hit by a puck. I guess it was for lace bite protection? -
I fail the pencil test in true skates but never had issues with lace bite. I figured it was due to me not actually having to tighten the skates much to get them to feel snug. I basically only tie up the top 3 eyelits.

Are the 1X Pro not Poron in the fingers? The foams feel really similar to the back hand foams.
-
Probably because when these skates launch the stick will be on the AS3 at that time. Simple solution is to stop with new sticks every year. Since Bauer stopped yearly refresh cycles for sticks I have a feeling CCM will stop in a few cycles.

Best of luck down there!

PSH has always been brutal for shipping to Canada. I always had to use a box or friend in the states to ship them too. What gloves are you looking for specifically?
-
If you want the most protective look for pro stock CCM gloves labelled XP, which stands for extra protection. They use a thick piece of D3O instead of normal foams for the finger and backhand protection. In all of my protective tests I have found those the best with the Bauers trailing very slightly behind. A bunch of non-XP gloves have the D3O in them but it is harder to tell unless you can see them in person. The Bauer retail Pro lines are VERY close to the pro stock ones. They use Poron for instead of "standard" foams. My only issue with the Bauer is side index finger protection is too hard and not thick enough. I took a slap shot there and broke my finger. Warrior DX gloves were a huge improvement in protection compared to the old ones, and I bring them up because Warrior has the best protection on the index finger area.

Some people definitely have unrealistic expectations, but I always tell them if your feet are numb when while you skate or you can't stand on them for a bit after you skate something is wrong.
-
Did you have to pay to send those back? Or did they cover shipping.
-
The best part about True skates is when you have at least 3 people every time comment "you should know by now there are QC issues" or "these are cosmetic and will have no affect on performance"... etc... etc instead of saying "Yeah they should change this"
-
No, I shouldn't because at this point it is possible weight distribution and just throwing them on the scale won't do anything for that. When I have both skates on at the same time and can feel a difference with every time I lift my foot I think talking about the weight thing is valid. Something that people don't understand is being critical doesn't mean a product is bad. The fit and finish of these skates is horrendously bad and if Bauer did the same thing people would rip them apart. I asked for extra room in the toe box as I don't want my toes touching the ends when I am standing still, Trues solution to this was just to remove the black layer of foam in the toe box and not actually make the skate slightly longer. They were still too tight so I took out the red piece of foam as well. Doing so ripped out a decent chunk of plastic wrapping... that shouldn't be a thing and there is a reason why True tells you "make sure you go in the back when removing the foam in the toe box." True makes a unique product that has a niche, but they also could do a bunch of things better that people really shouldn't be excusing them for. Instead of saying "this wear on your leather is fine and is just aesthetics on your $1000 skate" True should do better QC. But based on their new protective line and gloves I think it is pretty obvious True ignores majority of critical feedback. At the end of the day I still bought True skates, and this will be my 2nd pair. But I'll always point out things where there could be improvement, I would also kill to have a comfort edge on True skates... You thoughts are what everyone should expect.
-
Yes, they feel the same in your hand but feel way heavier on my foot.
-
I got the new skates and holders. The fit and finish and QC is still hilariously bad. I have fibres chipping from the heel straight out of the box, either they didn't put a gloss coat on them or they missed spots. While the skates are lighter, my FT2 still feel WAY lighter on my feet when wearing them side by side.

T90 line is more in line with the Project 9 isn't it? I would be looking at Sherwoods other sticks for a T90esk
-
You have to hand it for Bauer for innovating, the double stick technology will be a game changer!
-
I don't think CCM is updating the Tacks and Ribcore lines this year are they?
-
This company has so far been renamed as Tovi? Or has been bought out?
-
When I used the normal stock strapping (mediumly tight elastics) on the 1X I need a boot strap to almost act as a pulley system that would rotate the pad. The strap was loose but it would slide under the heel and rotate back correctly. When I went to a much looser strapping system I didn't need the bootstrap. So it still has it's usage even when loose.

Does that tongue look like that player has too much depth for that skate?
