  1. Thanks! Is there a resource anywhere that explains their different pro lines? Weird how CCM has the prostock type codes, and Bauer seems to just use the retail names.
  2. Being that it’s commonly used, does it map to a retail glove, or could someone describe the fit?
  3. Do the CCM pro stock glove codes match up to particular retail lines? I always see HG and then a two digit number. In particular, I’m looking at HG12 and HG41, if anyone has any idea what those are.
  4. Qr Pro is 800, QXT and QR3 are 600.
  5. QXTs are the QX3 with different graphics. These are marketed towards junior and college teams who want to spend slightly less. I think it’s a great stick, especially give the price. Maybe slightly blade heavy, but you only notice that if you’re looking for it.
  6. I was hoping that “hockey hack” was gonna be replacing edge with another holder.
  7. I’m 6’1”, 185, 32-33ish inch waist. I’ve worn in large Easton’s and now large Warrior DT2s. I always have to cinch the waist super tight. Same as you, I feel like M+1 would be ideal, but I always give up looking and just buy an L. It all depends on where your height is too... my hip to knee might be longer than yours.
  8. Can anyone compare the fit of CLs to QLT gloves? Are they similar? Im having trouble with CCM lineage because they keep changing the name of lines. I can’t remember what the CLs evolved into, if anything I like the QLT290s I have, and have been eyeing up some Pens CLs.
  9. My name is Brian, and I had this name 1st!! I don’t want to get in a “competition” over it, but maybe you should pick a “new direction” with your user name? 😉😂 (it’s all good. I think you have enough Xs to differentiate.)
  10. Once a year I soak all of my protective gear in the tub in oxy clean, then rinse it off. I was worried about the effect on my palms, but I saw someone (like marka) point out that sweating into them is more or less the same as water. Ive never had any problem with any ill effect on any of my stuff. I don’t notice a difference in palm feel at all. I tend to use 2nd tier gloves, so I don’t have baby kangaroo leather, just synthetic nash stuff.
  11. I have a 75 flex. It feels like it plays stiffer than that, but still usable. I didn’t like it much the first few times I used it because of that. Despite being brand new, it was relegated to a back up stick, until my qx3 broke unexpectedly. It helped me to sit and shoot on an empty net with it so I could feel how it flexed and shot. Wrist shots and slap shots are decent. I like midkicks better than low kicks, so I don’t feel like there’s a lag on the release. Passes are crisp and accurate. Shaft is boxy, which I like. Blade is stiff and feel is fine. They make a big deal out of the forhand and backhand being different types of carbon, but I don’t notice a difference at all. Weight and balance are good. I don’t count grams, and I’m more concerned that it doesn’t fee blade heavy. Its not my favorite stick ever, but I don’t dislike it by any stretch. I had a Stallion 500 and liked the flex on that better. That felt smoother and easier.
  12. @dkmiller3356 in your LTR of the 2.0, you said you thought the 75 played stiffer, almost like a 85 flex. Do you feel the as1 plays stiffer as well?
  13. I have the Qlt 290s with the same problem. Also, stitching started coming out everywhere about 6 months in. I can resew them easy, but it’s annoying.
  14. I used to wear soft cap elbow pads. I got slew footed and landed directly on my elbow. It hurt for weeks, and was uncomfortably sensitive when I bumped it. I made the decision then to always wear hard cap elbows. I dont know if it was intentional, but accidents will happen. I don’t worry about getting slashed on the wrists, I worry about the spills a few times a year where i land hard on my elbows.
  15. What’s the incentive from other brands to not give permission to post catalogues? Seems like free advertising.
  16. My brother has a pair of the Easton “pro” pants, not sure what number is attached to them. They had so much padding, when I first picked them up I thought they were goalie pants.
  17. Plus, I imagine Step or other aftermarket steel are extra inexpensive for ls2s, since it’s outmoded tech. Ditch the fusion, which is reguarded by pretty much everyone as the worst possible steel choice.
  18. There was a long unwieldy custom Bauer thread for a long time, when they were the main custom game in town. Theres a long unwieldy Mako thread. A long unwieldy Base thread. There was a long unwieldy Sprung thead in the roller section. We have typically been served well by keeping specific info about a product in one thread. If I’m new to a product, I’d rather have it all in one place, than have to fumble through a million small threads with 4 posts. If the product cycle weren’t so quick now, you'd see long threads on sticks and skates. Products disappear too quickly to build up more involved threads and discussion.
  19. I was actually thinking about starting a thread similar to this, but try to nail down the wording. My question is, how much better are sticks today than 10 years ago? Spec-wise, mid range sticks today seem pretty similar to top end sticks of yester year. I know there are more design elements now, and companies have mastered true one piece construction. If I saw a pro level player using an SE16 or one95, my first thought would be that it’s cool they pulled out a classic stick to play with. But, if they were using a modern mid-tier stick, I would think it’s odd that they are using a “low level” stick.
  20. He had two different gloves against the Jets on Friday. Supreme on the left, and CCM on the right. I didn’t look close enough to see what CCM.
  21. That Lie 6 would really give me pause. I have never heard of one of those in a 6 lie, and it’s not like it’s a popular enough curve like the P92 where they can offer it in multiple lies. And, it might just be the lighting and angle, but the name bar seems to be in a “bold” white font, as opposed to the light gray Bauer usually uses.
  22. Cool they they’ve found a way to add branded technology to jersey collars. Seems like an area that was holding back the game. Hopefully we start seeing the new TitanLite nameplates soon. Heard they are supposed to shave off some grams and decrease wind resistance.
  23. I’ve been happy with the $150 Warrior Alpha QX3. True single one piece construction. I dont know if that matters, but it’s rare at that pricepoint. Puck feel and shots have been fine. You can find the QXT for around $100. It’s the QX3 as sold to teams who want a cheaper stick option. Because of my form or play or wherever, I struggle with low kick sticks. Alpha has no issues at all for me, despite being marketed as a “higher” low kick. The kickpoint and release make sense to me, and I can generally put the puck where I want.
  24. How much of this isnjust hype about the latest and greatest thing? This is “old technology” that was widely standard practice like 18 months ago? Things change, but how many people are playing at a very competitive level are still using traditional radius? And, if we are broadening it to hockey players in general, I bet most people are skating on stock radius (one skate 9.32’, one skate 10.4’) that are slightly bent and then mangled by bad sharpening skills. My conspiracy theory is that the person who said that is trying to neg you into a slightly more expenensive profile. Or, is the type of person who always suggests the fancy new thing, regardless of need.
