the 8090 is already comparable to the xxx in weight. I dont really know what they'd want to do to improve and make a skate better than an 8090 as it is already an awesome skate.

Now this is a very remote thought: I bet every hockey manufacturer is eager to get a composite skate à la Easton Synergy on the market.

I'm not insinuating that the next Bauer skate will be composite. I'm just getting my off topic thoughts out.

I can't speak for other areas of the country and Canada, but here in the Northeast I wouldn't say that the Synergy skate has been a success.

Definetly a bust here in the Ottawa region.

But it helps sell other models as well. I see the same thing with Bauer around ehre. Kids love teh Vapor XXX skates but mom and dad won't fork out that much on skates, so they get the Vapor VIII or XIX. The top end skate is there for a small percentage of the population and to drive sales of the less expensive models as well.

actually what ive heard is easton is going to phase out the composite boot because not many people like the feel of it and how super stiff it is, that and the fact it cant be heated turns people off very fast

The top end skate may help sell lower skate models in brands such as Bauer, CCM, and even Graf...but I don't see that translation with Easton. I believe the 1300C is such a unique skate that a player will either want that skate or a different brand all together. Similar to when Cadillac released the CTS a few years ago...so completely different than the rest of the Cadillacs that the buyer came to the dealer for that car and not a different model if the CTS was too expensive or unavailable.

I take it you missed the part where Easton changed the styling on all of their other skates to look just like the 1300c. Not to mention they leveraged the Synergy name across the entire line of skates as well. Last year the comp skate was the synergy, now they are all synergy X00.

Sorry big guy, didn't miss the part about a completely new Easton skate line for the fourth or fifth year running. Believe it or not, your average skate purchaser knows from friends/hype/advertising that the 1300C is a full composite boot. This same average customer also knows that any model below this, even though it looks similar and has a similar name, is not a full composite skate.

I am just stating my opinion based on what I have seen that the 1300C has not helped lower end Easton skate sales. I assume your job is working at a hockey store, how many pairs of 1100-700 skates have you sold?

I am sure not nearly as many as lower end Vapors or Tacks. I am doubtful there is an increase in Easton skates sales at all due to their top end model.

Yes, some people realize they are a different skate entirely. Others have no clue at all and only know what the salesmen tell them. The guys who love the skates and believe in them sell them. Those who don't believe in them have problems moving them.

I don't sell Easton skates. One local retailer is selling them and kids are buying the low end skates and telling people they got a good deal on "synergy skates, the ones that were $500 last year". On the other hand, I know a lot of people who bought Easton skates in the past that claim they will never go back because theyhated them.

i too need new skates very soon. i replaced my 8090s with flexlite 12s, but the eyelets on the flexlite proved to be very similar to previous nike eyelets and ripped out within a month and 10 days. i have had great luck with the supreme line so im banking on this new one more or less. any info about it is greatly appreciated as well as a potential release date (haha please dont say christmas/holidays). thanks

yeah, many are very drawn off of the new easton skates from the past which were....not so good. Even though the 05 skate(900 especially) has been an amazing skate so far for an awesome price. As for 1300s, they don't seem to be doing too well among other high end skates.

i was just talkin to a friend who's at a junior camp, and he said the bauer rep came in with a new skate called the supreme one90. is this the new bauer skate everyone's been pondering?

My understanding from someone who knows a lot about the inner workings of Bauer is that the new Supreme will actually be lighter than the XXX's. Word is there is going to be a good amount of foam making up the boot.
