Good to know. I'll probably order the True's then thru my hockey shop with the XS + Blacksteel, and then if I like that feel and performance, order a back up set of runners.

My current pair of Trues I had the SB holders put on right away. I only had the true holders on for about a couple mths for my first pair of Trues back in 2017. I honestly didn't have any issues with the true holders performance wise. The only reason I went to SB this time was bc I just bought brand new step blacksteel for my as1s and didn't want to waste them. It didn't make sense to have them collect dust and spend another 140+ cdn on blacksteel for the true holders which were special order with a wait time of about a month.

That's a first. The AS1 boot and CCM steel are neutral in overall design. The TRUE skate is going to be pitched much more aggressively. I have never heard the opposite form anyone so you are definitely the first. In fact, I had a player who switched to TRUE from a pair of AS1 and had to switch back because he could not get accustomed to the pitch in the boot no matter what we did to his steel.

There is plenty of pick-up around, stick time is generally reserved for 18 and under though. I don’t know of any place that rents gear. There is a Pure Hockey in north Pittsburgh and a Ko Sports in the south. Pure is probably like any other Pure, Ko is bigger. It is a Source for Sports franchise somit will have SMU stuff but dont think pro stock. There is also a Peranis but I havent been there for years. if you know where you are staying that would help.

So, I played pick-up hockey last Friday. That was great. Didn't get any shots on net. I just played defense most of the time. Tried to make some passes up to forwards. Practice fast backwards skating in 1-on-1 situations. Didn't go too crazy offensively. Only difference this time around was I never jumped the boards to get on or off. I was using the door all the time.

Amazon, any sports store with gym gear, Walmart even... what you're looking for are 'resistance training bands' or 'resistance loop bands'. Good luck! The exercises really seemed to work miracles in our case. colins

My 40 and over team had a practice last night for an upcoming tournament. A couple of guys brought their kids (PeeWee/Bantam aged) as we were short. I brought my 11 year old son. It was my first time skating with him in an adult full on scrimmage. We had a blast. I told him I waited 11 years for this day and it was worth it. He played great- fearless in the corners and carrying the puck up ice. Had about 10 shots, about half really good scoring chances. So much fun.

Well...I have found that the W03 curve is perfect for me. So...because I'm a scientist...here's what I have and will be testing... -Warrior Alpha QX 75 and 85 W03 Bauer Supreme 2s Pro 87 p88 Bauer Nexus 2N Pro 82 p92 CCM Jetspeed 85 McDavid (I'll say right now...don't like the curve). True XC9 ACF 75 Marner Was practicing in the garage today...I have isolated that my biggest problem is transfer of weight to my front foot and hip. When I started focusing on that, my shots immediately started getting off the ice and picking up speed. It is a very humbling experience to have to start at the beginning again. From 97mph and picking corners from the point to bouncing to the net...or missing...from 25'! It's all good though. I'm almost in tears every time I'm on the ice cuz I NEVER thought I would be able to do it again. Been skating 4 times a week since school ended (I teach middle school bio). Now I'm skating with college players at sticktime and keeping up. I have NO hands yet. That is the current goal. Have registered for my first league since...maybe 1997-98?πŸ₯…πŸ’πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ‘πŸ˜Ž Anyway...I really am grateful for your responses and it's awesome to be back in the game!

I don’t think these are all that rare, but an interesting set to add to the collection.

My skates finally, after some fiasco with the holders and steel. It's finally done, had a game last night and it felt incredible. Halfway through the game I felt confident enough to loosen the laces even more. Credit where credit is due. The guys that I originally sent these skates to have the holders switched, mangled the job (bent the steel as well as a result). But Joe from B-Sharp in Ottawa was able to fix these up better than before, he actually called TRUE to get my scan and their build papers, and consulted with them on how and where to mount these properly, got me back on the ice the next day. Above and beyond work.

You obviously aren't familiar with what has been happening with American politics over the last 20 or so years. πŸ˜€ Just filling you in on what I've seen in my nearly 30 years of beer league playing with folks whose levels ranged from recent to the game all the way to NCAA champs and Euro/minor leaguers. Nobody wants to out there when "that guy" is going balls out with 10 seconds left in a game that is all over.
