    2019 Gear Releases

Huh. Well, that's kind of disappointing. I figured a high-end traditional pant would've been a given, seeing how popular the Supreme One95/Nexus 1000/Nexus 1N have always been, but maybe I'm just speaking for a niche crowd that snaps up the pro stock models on eBay? Still kind of curious to see what they roll out before snapping up 1N's on clearance.

This is quickly turning into one of the worst months of my life. I forced myself to give up on someone I cared deeply for, I'm on FMLA/STD leave from work (which keeps me away from the stress, but the thought of being useless makes me feel like it's a double-edged sword), I'm on antidepressants for the first time in my life, and to top it all off, my car needs over $1,600 worth of work for it to pass inspection. I'm trying very hard to stay positive, stay active, keep playing hockey, and eating well, but my god... I never imagined things spiraling out of control this much.

I REALLY want to like both of these jerseys, but my god... whoever's forcing the Adizero collars needs to be burned at the stake.

    2018 Third Jerseys

As a Flames fan, I'm SUPER-relieved that they went with these. I was a bit surprised at how many people on social media were crying out against seeing these again. Those people are heretics and should be burned at the stake. Also, while I absolutely loathe the new Adidas collars, I think this was as good as they could do here. 100% in favor of seeing their white counterparts as the away jerseys next season. The other added bonus? More chances to snag Flames retro pants and gloves!

I actually really dig the graphics on it. This and last year's 1N are two of Bauer's best-looking sticks in quite a while.

    CCM 50k skates

Seconded. Aside from some a few recent minor issues with the quarters near the toe box, my 50Ks are still going strong after over three years. Best pair of skates I've ever owned bar none.

When Does Bauer Release New Pants

Ooh... I like that they're finally ditching that ugly white/gray logo on the front of their retail pants. Once they get around to updating the Nexus line of pants again, and unless they completely shit the bed on them, a new pair will be an automatic buy.

Good luck with the 1X Lite Stick?

Same here for the most part, actually. The blade on mine seems okay, and the stick itself has held up well enough after about six months of use, but the stick's pop seemed to only last for about a month. If it weren't for the fact that it's so light, it'd be nearly useless on the ice, though I'd gladly trade some of the weight for longer lasting performance. I won't be buying another one, for sure. In fact, as much as I used to love Bauer, it seems like a lot of their retail products have really dropped off in quality over the last four or five years. Strongly considering seeking greener pastures with other brands, but I digress.

    Product Catalogs from 1994-1997

I think this is pretty much all we have to offer. Still, there's some really cool stuff to be seen there. Not sure what you're looking for, but best of luck to ya and all.

From Bauer's Facebook. Possible second gen Vapor 1X gloves on the Jets dude? I'm certainly not seeing a 1S logo where it should be.

Product catalogs up on MSH by April 2007: 9 Product catalogs up on MSH by April 2017: 1 What is WRONG with you, Big Hockey? Why won't you let me see your glorious spring releases to keep me warm and toasty over the long, cold winter? I'm a privileged, highly avaricious, materialistic member of the consumer culture and I DEMAND to see all of your shiny new toys before all of the filthy plebs do! WHY MUST YOU TEASE ME ARRRGGGGHHHHH (*throws chair across the room*) THIS AFFECTS ME!!!!! (I'm only kidding. I suppose it is kind of a bummer, though. Plus there's what, like, 3 companies now?)

    The Venting Spot

I dabble in bird/nature photography, and I've been without a telephoto lens for the last five months. I decided I'd put in for a rental this weekend to test out a few lenses ahead of time last month. I figured by mid-March it would start to warm up and I wouldn't have to worry about snow or high winds or any of that nonsense, plus I have tomorrow through Sunday off. Well... Really, nature? All those years of recycling and not running the water while brushing my teeth and this is how you repay me? I hope all the polar bears drown and like seven oil tankers explode this year now.

Well, I just got back from the post office to ship a girdle first class to Toronto from southeast Pennsylvania. The cost? $36.50. Thirty six frickin' fifty. Canada is now officially on my no-ship list until freight companies decide to stop being extortionists. In addition, I'm reasonably sure the Popeye's I had afterwards gave me food poisoning. Also, as speaking as a forever alone, today is like the first day of winter (screw cold weather), Black Friday, and Hitler's birthday all rolled into one. Lastly, I decided to bitch about all of this on a hockey forum on the Internet. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

New stock like Bauer 4000 helmet

You'd want to check out the Bauer 4500 methinks. (Side note, we can ACTUALLY post topics in the Product Catalogs section!? I didn't even think that was possible. Hell, it never even occurred to me to try. You learn something new everyday, I guess.)

Yeesh. I like the idea, but it just doesn't work. To paraphrase the great Jeremy Clarkson, I do not know why blue holders can be worn by only people named Wayne Gretzky, but that's a fact and there's nothing we can do about it. If you have blue holders and you aren't called Wayne Gretzky, you have the wrong holders.

And now, some words of wisdom from the Grand Poobah of Knowledge: Burning Bear (really would like to change my horrible MSH handle) When bringing your iPhone full of music to play during your New Year's Eve hockey game and the battery goes flat when you were sure it was fully charged, it would behoove you to consult with one of your tech-savvy teammates as opposed to spending all of your time on the bench repeatedly pressing the power and home buttons attempting to resuscitate it. Moreover, after becoming red-in-the-face in frustration, don't start banging the phone against one of the metal dividers in the Plexiglas like a madman, hoping that will magically fix the problem, and end up shattering the screen. Above all, AGAIN, don't wait until after you've destroyed your phone to talk to your tech-savvy teammate and have him explain to you that it was a simple $20 dying lithium-ion battery issue whilst staring at you like you have mushy pudding for brains. Also, don't be me.

    Christmas Loot

I would've considered asking for something cool like an expensive shiny new stick, but since I'm in the middle of a terrible curve crisis, I've decided to hold off on shelling out big bucks for something that may or may not work for me. Here's my minuscule list of hockey-related things I got: Bauer Helmet Bag - Bauer, sometimes I love you, and other times, I really, REALLY hate you. I asked my folks to buy this for me, and I admit, I didn't really see any good pictures of this thing beforehand. I was expecting something thick and tough with a faux-leather outside and nice, soft microfiber/terrycloth on the inside. What I got instead was a flimsy grocery bag with a drawstring. Will probably end up replacing with something good instead. Firstar Rink Hockey Socks - This was another one I picked out for my folks to get me. The flimsy retail Reebok Edge socks (yes, I take back all the nice things I said about retail Reebok Edge gear) in the intermediate size fit me pretty well. I assumed the same would be true with Firstar as well. It wasn't. Trying to squeeze these socks over my shin guards was like trying to squeeze Josh Gad in a wetsuit. Going to roll the dice on returning these for seniors. If THOSE don't work, I'm going to write Reebok an irate letter demanding they make their socks out of something more durable than one-ply toilet paper and ditch the Velcro system designed for a pair of pants that ABSOLUTELY NO ONE wears. TL; DR - I ruined my own Christmas.

    CCM hockey sticks P46

I agree with both of you. I would describe the rocker as gentle, but like flip said, continuous. It's definitely not flat or AS flat as say Bauer's P88 or Easton's E9 (Heatley). Also, got to use it for the first time last night. Fantastic curve for everything except slapshots, though that's probably due to my own shortcomings as opposed to the curve's or stick's. What the hell, CCM? Why is it man's nature to kill off everything good and decent?

    CCM hockey sticks P46

This is kind of a bummer. I've recently had some woes with my once-trusty P92 curves (regular P92 has me spraying shots all over the place, P92 lie 5 stays nice and flat but sails five feet over my target), so I tried a P46 at the local HockeyGiant's demo range and thought it was the bee's knees. So much, in fact, that I plunked down on one. My gut tells me it'll probably wind up as yet another one of my failed experiments, but hey, it's nice to think there's a curve out there that'll magically solve all of my on-ice problems as well as making me significantly wealthier, younger, and covered in supermodels, right? Anyway, I feel for you P46 lovers out there. Oh, and in case I wind up loving the curve, please leave a few lefties in 75 flex for me.

Anyone picking up the new 1N (2016)?

We just can't have nice things around here, can we? (Well, I guess SOME of us have nice things... and then deliberately break them just before the warranty expires.)

Anyone picking up the new 1N (2016)?

Yeah, not to sound like a broken record, here or otherwise, but you've got a snowball's chance in hell of getting me to fork over that much cash for a stick. I don't care if Bauer remade the gorgeous Vapor XX and had them personally delivered by equally gorgeous Alessandra Ambrosio; if she demanded three hundred smackaroos, I'm slamming the door in her face.

Does anyone else Feel The same Way?

I think value for your money is something of a factor as well. Ten years ago, $80 would net you a pair of Vapor XV gloves, which, while not top-of-the-line, were very good for the price. Fast forward to today where $90 gets you Vapor X800s, which are dumpster gloves that belong in the trash. I'm not sure how much inflation comes into play, but all I know is if you put those two sets of gloves in front of me for those prices today, I'd go with the XVs in a heartbeat.

Pretty depressing that these aren't isolated incidents. I recently had to turn down an offer to play with a bunch of my good friends simply because men's league is a sanctuary for the civilly challenged. And it isn't cheap, either. The way I see it, if you're not enjoying yourself, your money's not well spent.

    Nexus Pant Fit

I'm the same build as you and was considering a pair of Nexus pants as well. If you don't mind, could you let us know how you like them? It seems like everyone who's ever worn a pair of One95/Nexus pants loves them, but I'm not really sure what all the hype's about.
