I'm moving on Saturday. We bought our first home on November 27 of last year and have spent the last two months getting ready to move in. We had to redo the Kitchen & Bathroom. Put in new basement windows. We had to change a couple of rooms by moving a couple of doors to new locations. And a lot of painting!! I almost can't believe we own a house. We have lived in our apartment since October 1999. We had a lot of memories there. We got married. Helped take care of my Mom before passing away. We had our daughter. I had and recovered from my liver transplants. Now we are starting a new chapter in our lives. Never thought we would ever be doing this, but so excited for things to come!

Received confirmation yesterday that my skates have arrived. Hoping to get to the shop on Monday. Will keep everyone updated of the process.

I'm jealous you guys get to have them at all. Using a Mac was a job requirement for me (I would have walked out of the interview if they'd said no) so I'm one of a small handful of people at this fortune 500 company using them. Basically me, and some high level executives. Thankfully they let me use my own so I don't have all the corporate junk on it.

Can’t decide if this belongs here or in the venting thread, but I guess I’ll put it here since I think it’s hilarious. Guys with matte black (or Tron-style carbon fiber look) helmets are the new white gloves and mirrored visors. It pretty much confirms douchebaggery is about to happen when you see one in warm ups. There are 4-5 guys in our league that are hated by everyone including their own team. Every one of them has a matte/carbon helmet. Im sure it’s just a coincidence but it’s been pretty spot on so far.

I worked IT at a university also at one point and I agree. So much better than corporate.

Maybe. But I got these holders on before my steel came in. And the frustrating part is that one set of steel may click while the other won't and vice versa. So really, that may help with your first set of steel but not future ones. At the end of the day, it is just too inconsistent, and it gets old returning holder after holder. I play 1-2x a week max during the winter season and 1x a week tops during the summer, so this issue likely won't even be an problem for the life of my steel. My last ls3 steel lasted me a good 4 years and they still have a lot of sharpening in them and they were profiled twice. So even if I get a good 2-3 years out of this holder, I'd be happy, but will be switching out to the ls2 (I have a spare new set), or look at whatever new options are available at that time.

As an IT professional and an Apple fan boy Apple is making it harder and harder to support their computers in an enterprise environment. As of Spring of 2018 Apple will be removing some of the features I use in their Server App. This is very frustrating.

There’s a blade holder accessory for that.

I'm glad someone feels the same way. Most people I talk to say "mines tight and not loose" without ever even looking at their holders, let alone not even knowing what hollow their skates are sharpened at. But I'm also ocd for certain things.... 😋

I feel the same way. You can tweak the nut to get the tightness just right on the LS2. With the Edge, you're relying on close tolerances in the latching mechanism which can't be adjusted.

While you may not want to settle, I would recommend that you take an "add some experience to your resume" position for a year or two. It is always easier to find a job when you have a job.

    Electricians are expensive.

he ain't nuts ....the older /more ice time they get ..the more they move around . i am aware ...cause whenever possible , I separate steel from the boot to achieve a more precise sharpening!! the trigger feature to remove steel is cool and a marketing gimmick ...but for 20 seconds of labour more, you get real screws to really tighten the steel and eliminate any free play !!
