I started wearing a bubble after my college cage started to rust out during my first couple of years after graduating. Since I was use to wearing a visor all the time due to officiating, going to the bubble made sense. I don't remember ever getting chirped but I know its something that I've seen people get chriped about 🙄. I don't care to get my face messed up with over men's league. And since I play at multiple levels, you can't always expect people to know where to place their stick and/or body parts haha.

What I did is twist the straps bringing in the slack before clipping them to the helmet. I wear a bubble for my own safety, couldn't give a fuck about being chirped. I'm 5 foot 6. Going into corners means sticks and elbows to the face. That don't get called.

Yep, they would be pretty useless for crossing parking lots in a Canadian winter. And $60 is ridiculous. My "bender" comment was more about the ridiculous things kids will pick to chirp about, not your post. I think I might experiment to see if I can come up with a Red Green solution. Maybe soakers stuffed with pipe insulation, or something goofy like that.

I see tons of kids wearing these to the rink these days. Can't say I've seen an adult in them though.

They are still on this site: http://leon-shop.ru/product/perchatki_hokkeynie_flame_russia_x_sr And the Russian pair covert to like $70? I reached out to see if they still offer custom gloves.

I have the Elite walkable soakers, which are pretty similar to the Treks. They are great soakers, but like I previously said, from experience, if you're walking outside a lot, and you need to negotiate uneven ground, rocky dirt, and/or stairs/curbs, they're not as stable as the hard plastic ones you strap on. They move around some inside the soaker. For flat, even surfaces, they work great. I would recommend the plastic ones with the heel strap. When properly fitted, those suckers stay on very well.

He lives in Florida if you want a general estimate, but you can contact him directly for more details. The shipping is definitely an added charge, but the quality is worth it, and also, I use the site so I wanted to support the services that they offer, even though it could cost me a bit more. I can support my local shop through other stuff. Also, not sure prices by you, but I actually think it was cheaper for me even with shipping. My local shop charges 55 +tax for a full conversion. I got 3 pairs done by JR for 90 bucks, and shipping both ways totaled about 60 bucks. So 3 pairs of skates cost me 150. Local, I would have paid 165+ tax, and it would have been an hour drive each way, so 4 hours of driving total. Obviously depends on your local prices, but in my case the MSH prices ended up being better. I didn't realize it then, but now that I'm making the calculation, I obviously won out. I would have sent them either way, but it's nice to know I saved a few bucks and a few hours of driving. Also, I was having sprungs mounted, and I didn't want to take any chances in them being mounted incorrectly or poorly. I know JR has done many, so I felt much more comfortable sending then to him.
