It took the better part of a decade of dreading going to work every day, but we finally made the leap of faith into a new career for myself, and it is delightful.

Late to the party on this and surprised that @JR Boucicautof all people missed this. Your statement is INCORRECT and by MANY years. It was TPS Hockey with the first true sub 400g OPS in late 2003 with the Response XN10.

"Innovation" in sticks is overrated. It's all about marketing. Sticks plateaued in technology 10 years ago, and everything ever since has basically been marketing buzzwords. If Sherwood doesn't succeed, it isn't because of quality or value. They have/had the best 150$ stick in the industry with the T90 Gen 2 (true A4.5 is close), and their BPM120 gloves are truly elite for the price. I think their grassroots move away from the NHL and towards rec and minor leagues was smart, and I don't know if their return to the NHL is a good move. P.S. whoever was responsible for the graphic design of the new Code V stick needs to be fired immediately.

That's awesome. Good luck on your next adventures. Did it years ago, left teaching in NYC public schools (absolute disaster) to run a bookbinding business. Just sold the business and moved out to Phoenix AZ to take a new teaching job and I love it

So I did a super scientific test this weekend and skated the R1/O1 back-to-back then decided to try both at the same time. I was using the H5 insert on the R1 and keep the O1's center bolt pretty loose. I definitely feel (and see) a lot more rocker with the O1 which forces my muscles to work more when stationary, but when I was skating with one chassis on each foot, the difference didn't feel as drastic. I could do C-cuts on inside and outside edges about the same and didn't feel much of a difference with transitions or the turning radius. Granted, this was skating in a parking lot and not a game situation, but from my initial skate on the R1's I thought there would have been a more noticeable difference. The MPC Freestyle wheels provided me MUCH more grip than they did on the smooth concrete surface I skated on last week so I am definitely going to keep these wheels on for the time being. Biggest difference had nothing to do with the chassis itself, but rather the boot I mounted the R1's to since they're brand new and I'm still breaking them in. Looking forward to others who have both chassis giving their impressions

Got the shin pads last Thursday and played with them on Friday. Love the strapping system since I have chicken legs, so getting a tight fit with a traditional calf strap was difficult. Stick was purchased about a month ago. Not a big Supreme guy, but I do like the graphics of the Team version and one I might get to use it.

That's probably their opinion or how they perceive it. Which is far from reality. Back to skates before we get a finger wag. 😉

Break open your piggy bank and also find out whatever favors you can do for @JunkyardAthletic, I think he might have a few, also the line forms to the left so get behind me 😁.

I received my setup a week ago. I tried them at two training and it's an awesome feeling. I would never go back to normal chassis. I put the h5-t8 rocker and the tight turn, c cut and the transition forward backward are amazing.

That indent right there is super strange... like almost looks like someone was pushing hard in that area into your foot when it was being baked.

AS1 fits way tighter than the FT1.

I’ve always heard that Audis are just budget BMW copies.

They dont want a new store to open in close proximity to other stores as it would cannibalize the business and could ruin relationships. That has to be taken with a grain of salt though as they have no problem opening a Pure Hockey in any location fully knowing it will destroy any local small stores in the immediate area.

With the current happenings in WA, such as civil unrest, pandemic, rinks still being closed, fires, among other issues including the proximity of Seattle to Vancouver, CA. I think it was an intelligent choice.

I picked mine up just now. I joined the local Sunday night league at the rink after a hiatus. Will join the local church league too. I'll probably get banned from that one though

I’ve been saving up for months for new goalie pads. Due to a combination of coronavirus, local rinks permanently closing, and being kicked off my team I’ve decided it was time to invest in a new hobby, instead of buying hockey gear I’ll never see much use out of. Welcome to the team, Rocket! 🚀 I’m so pumped, but at the same time definitely going to miss hockey. I’ll still have my gear for now, but if it doesn’t see much use in the next 6 months or so I may try to just sell it all.

I don’t think these are all that rare, but an interesting set to add to the collection.
