People will do anything to validate their "point" haha.

Is this really that confusing haha? The fact that you don't seem to understand what we are talking about is baffling. No one is saying that regular season success = playoff success when it comes to a goalie. What we are saying is that you need good goaltending to win a Cup. How you don't seem to grasp that is beyond me. There are other facets to a Cup-winning team but you still can't give an example of a goalie who played less than fantastic OVERALL to get 16 wins after the regular season is over.

Those guys played fantastic in the playoffs. Were they great every game? No. Read what I'm writing. A goalie can have a fantastic run in the playoffs and be, overall, a mediocre goalie. A goalie can also play lights out and still lose. Why? Because like I said, goaltending is a significant factor. That doesn't mean its the ONLY factor. You can hand pick a game here or there. No goalie has gone 16-0. At least not to my knowledge.

As a Flyers fan, I know all too well that goaltending is a significant factor. Is it the only factor? Of course not. But please give us one example of a team that won the Cup in the Modern Era that DIDN'T have fantastic goaltending. In some cases, you have a franchise 'tender in net. With others, the guy(s) get hot at the right time and the team rides that momentum into June.

The fact that the Flyers go up 4-2 and end up losing 8-5 just shows the difference between the two teams. On a bum MCL, Couturier shows up when the team needs him the most. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for some of the other "key" figureheads. And to add insult to injury, what's up with the beer can throwers? You've never been to a game where your team loses? And then turn around and give the team a standing-O? Embarrassing if you ask me...

Looks like your prediction could be right. The Caps have definitely taken the scenic route to finally getting a lead in this series ha...

You know how it goes: unless you've been to playoffs, you don't know how to react to it. Couple that with more concentration on team D, superstars need more help to be super.

Not surprised by the series record. The better team is winning. What Flyers fans and management need to see is that over-valuing your own players is no good. The likes of Matt Read and Jori Lethera should not be getting ice time in the playoffs. That it isn't ALWAYS the goalie's fault but the fault of those in charge of putting the team together. We'll see what happens in the offseason. Carter Hart MAY be the real thing. He's a prospect until he isn't. Focus on drafting and developing young talent that mimics TODAY'S NHL. Time to wake up and take off the Orange and Black shades...

That was a great call by the stripes. If you don't like Hornqvist's penalty, McDonald shouldn't have been called for cross-checking. Both assessed penalties were correct. I was surprised that Hornqvist was called in the first place but no way one can say that wasn't embellishment. At least if you call yourself objective.

Split on the road: that a'way boys...

Just a dirty play. You have a beef with Chara's hit, go after him (at your own risk haha).
-
Are we going to ignore the fact that Marchand was making sweet, sweet nothings into Komarov's ear haha!?
-
Yea, about that game...

Yea, I can't see the Flyers getting swept. Should the Pens win the series? I think so. One must not forget that the Pens have questions in goal and as fantastic as they are at Consol, they are a beatable team on the road. I see this series going to 6 games.

Kovalchuk Returning to the NHL?

It makes sense in that a gives someone a reason to watch/go to a NYR game. Certainly won't get in the way of their rebuild. -

I've played one game in them. Overall, I can feel the difference from using Marsblade in comparison to what I was before (Tour Thor EX1's with Labeda Hum'er Eviction frames). Not surprising because later wasn't a Hi-Lo setup (was running all 80mm). That being said, my edge work felt much more similar to ice hockey when using Marsblades. I only play inline once a week so ice hockey will always take priority for me. And with that being the case, the plastic frame it's durability isn't as big as a concern for me. I had an old pair of skates and wanted to get back into playing inline. I put my money into these holders. I can see if I played inline all the time that I may just pass on Marsblade all together. Fortunately, that isn't the case for me. Looking forward to give more feedback as time goes on.

Yea, I see it differently but I know I'm in the minority when it comes to wing play haha. When the winger comes to "help" with the attacking forward walking from the boards/low corner, that seems to create more time for the attacking team because the defending team doesn't know how to recover from the double team created by the winger's presence.
-
I wouldn't want my wingers playing lower. It is a "good" idea IF the block is made successfully. The closer you are to goal, the more time you give the blue liners to pick up their heads to pass or/shot. And if that block isn't made successfully, you can be a deflector and cause more issues for your goalie.

I hear you. I had the original Makos and they fit great post-bake. Got the same size in the Mako II and had to give them up due to the pain I was in from the skates haha. It was a big disappointment. And since I purposely waited to buy them, there was limited supply. I just had to go back to Bauer and currently rock the 2015 1X's.

From years of officiating, I've done these drills during seminars. Unfortunately, I don't have nearly as much time as I had back in the day ha. Useful stuff nonetheless.

Yes! I wish I knew that when I was younger. Top figure skaters have such superior edge compared to most, if not all, hockey players (at ANY level). Just watching the Winter Olympics was yet another reminder haha. Something that I'll expose my kids to if they want to pursue hockey.
