  1. Or they don’t change because the newer “tech” is marketing garbage that isn’t objectively better than what came out 10 years ago despite 100% price inflation.
  2. “#teaser” would suggest otherwise.
  3. Cut to 62 inches standing against a wall but never used, non grip. Asking $90 shipped within the US OBO.
  4. I’m curious to hear about the results here as well- debating between CCM full customs and Trues.
  5. Fair, but when a huge sample of people report the same blade breaking in the same spot over and over (while avoiding the issue with other replacement blades) I start thinking that the item is probably just a poorly made POS. 🙂
  6. Is it fair to assume sticks will stay at $299, which means insane margins without the middle-man (wholesale)? I guess that’s one way to save a grossly mismanaged company.
  7. Landing page image of Ovechkin in CCM gear with the cup over his head?
  8. Pretty sure if you order them without the Step holder you don’t get the heel cup.
  9. @BelangerJS was this the case for pro stock boots as well? I.e would a pro stock 2015 Jetspeed in a 7.5D/A be the same length as a pro stock 8D/A FT1- all else held constant??
  10. Looking to sell as a pair- one is used twice and cut to 62 inches with no chips or cracks, the other is new and uncut. These are 75 flex RH, white graphics fading into black at the blade. Grip shaft with Warrior’s built in candy-cane texture. T4QRX code. Curve is Kampfer’s custom pattern which I would describe as P92 with the curve moved further back toward the heel. Sort of like a P92/P106 cross. Asking $150 shipped for the pair within the US https://imgur.com/a/QaR10dU
  11. I don’t agree with the bolded, at all. Bauer and CCM have the sizes clearly marked on them and it’s fairly easy to determine if anything was done to the vamping, stiffness, etc. Also, most pro return pairs are the same size in both feet. If anything, with how Bauer builds their retail skates (Nexus and Supreme) on oversized lasts it’s actually easier to figure out exactly what you’re getting with a pro stock skate.
  12. It’s funny but not a new or hockey specific phenomenon. What’s more enticing to the average consumer?- “a bubble of visible plastic under your heel” or “AirMax”.
  13. IceWarehouse has a free skate return program. Beats eating 50%+ of your cost buying something that doesn’t fit.
  14. Basically standard on all G3 build sticks.
  15. Is the base price the same regardless of model? Or is the 70k still cheaper?
  16. It will be (and remain) a niche product unless it ships attached to a flagship Bauer or CCM skate. The average player doesn’t change their holder. Remember that us nerds/gearheads are a very very very small percentage of the market.
  17. The top one is a Drury/P91A.
  18. Just get whatever fits the best. The IMS/Reakt shell is light enough for half the NHL so it’s probably light enough for you. If you can wait a few weeks the Reakt 95 looks like an IMS 9.0 on steroids.
  19. Has anything been done to explicitly address the heat/ventilation issues on the Covert gloves? The previous model would have been OK to use as a hand warmer outside during the Boston winter.
  20. The OG Jetspeed is still fairly easy to acquire via EBay and old LHS stock. You’ll find a pair if you dig around.
  21. The day my 16 year old self walked out of my then-LHS with three YP 100 silver OG Synergy’s was one of the best days of my gear-whoring career.
  22. That scares me as well. How is this any different than clamping the skate after heating it the traditional way? For guys that need to go wider I’m sure it’s fine but for guys that need to go narrower there’s still all that excess material in play.
  23. The profile and shaved toe on the Drury lets you do the same thing (with more control for some given the absence of the toe banana) I’m not denying the versatility of the P28- but let’s not act like this style of shooting was invented yesterday.
  24. Heel curves had no problem keeping up with Sakic et. al. shooting off the wrong foot with the hands out in front. It’s more kool-aid as opposed to a true mechanical advantage here.
  25. Sounds like a One90 height 70k is the move then! Sorry for the meta-PM: back to our regularly scheduled AS1 programming.
