  1. I've had the same problem. I found the padded shirts to be a nice solution. There are tons of options out there. I have CCM version, it's a decent piece. If you want to get more robust you could try some Box Lacrosse pads. They're a little beefy/bulky though. Might be better for coverage when recovering as opposed to an every day solution.
  2. The scan isn't the be all end all. Think of it as a starting point. You may want to skate on them before profiling. The quad may be great for one skate, but not another. I'd give them a few sessions before profiling.
  3. There is a similar product making the rounds. VT tested I believe.
  4. You don't have enough volume to fill the boot properly. So yeah, tongues can twist and things rub. But the twisting isn't whats causing the blisters. If those were from your tongues, they only be on the outer side of the foot, not both. You'll never punch a boot smaller. If you try punching my guess is your problems will get worse, not better.
  5. I still remember when it was only 1 and called KC Sports.
  6. Boom, there it is. And who are we to say what's good or bad for passing. We're a bunch of hacks with day jobs.
  7. I had them baked at a local Pure Hockey, no details other than it was a Bauer oven, they came out one at a time and they were pretty hot when I put them on. Sorry.
  8. They still look really wide to me. But anyway... My 100ks have WAY better wrap than that and that's only a single bake without any plastic wrap or the likes therof. Temp and oven time should be part of the equation. I don't think boot height is your issue. You should be able to get ridiculous wrap regardless of height. Whether or not height or wrap is helpful is a separate discussion.
  9. My opinion... Judging by the first two pics. The CCM boot is way too deep/wide for you. You look lost in that boot. Which would also explain your other issues. Anyways, looks like you need a Reg fit.
  10. I've seen a few NOS pairs pop up on Sideline. Maybe you can snag a pair there. The newer-ish Tacks stuff should be based on those or whatever those came from.
  11. Have you considered, maybe the block was put there to further stiffen the holder or that maybe it's there as a fix for some underlying issue that crept up in development. Or maybe the center beam wasn't strong enough without the block. I can't wait to hear all the whining about how Bauer won't replace failed holders due to user mods. If you have a bunch of Edge steel, just have Edge holders installed. It really is that easy.
  12. Why not just wrap the end in adhesive backed foam to build the taper. It will be lighter then the mounds of tape and cheaper than a 3D printer. Hell, you could wrap the entire grip in foam then tape over it...
  13. Sounds a lot like the Pure near me in central MA. I'd have better luck finding a baseball bat then I would a 70 flex P90TM.
  14. I thought Bauer was only offering it as part of the MyBauer program? I know True is releasing their version at full retail at some point.
  15. I tried both the 720 & 910 at PH. I was horribly disappointed with the 720. The helmet would not collapse below 1/3. The liner and padding placement prevented it. I wanted so badly for it to fit too. It had the makings of a great bucket. I ended up with a 910. Just a much more secure fit than the X. The X never sat right. It's was always moving and I was constantly F-ing with it. The X was cool to see and try. For the price, I'd pass regardless of fit. If I were going to spend that type of money on a helmet. I'd spend the extra $$ and get the custom version.
  16. I've been using FT6 Pros since June. I recently had one fail. I could feel something was off. When I removed the tape the bottom of the blade (the part that touches the ice) was cracked. The blade felt a little squishy when playing or handling the puck on the back side. Anything off the face felt fine. Buts like 6-7 months playing 2-3 times a week.
  17. Retail. I bought it on sideline, new without packaging. Decent enough deal to give it a try.
  18. Since we're back on topic. After a handful of skates I'm still kinda meh. I never feel like it sits where it's supposed to. Yeah, it's comfortable. Not enough to live up to the hype, least not for me. It does look really good and it's much lighter than my other helmets. Im gonna try a 720 and a 910 the next time I am at a shop.
  19. A lot of pro stocks come with a factory installed extension. Sounds like you cut yours around this area.
  20. You may want to consider adding some adhesive backed shot blockers. At the very least it seels off the area and prevents chipping.
  21. You use the commercial version linked or the black plastic one with the twist lock clasp? I use the twist lock version. It's ok. I never get the feeling the blade is seated properly even though I know it's the clamp that aligns everything. It's the one aspect I don't care for.
  22. Good point. I assumed he meant the Toews branded P14. Full disclosure. The P14 I have was modified to flatten out the rocker.
  23. More open than the 88 but less then the P90TM. The 14 flatter than a P90TM which is flatter than the 28 and 92.
