My EQ50!

I hear ya but the move for the stick market has been to a black base color for a stick. Silver was nice but I prefer black. Black allows the graphics to "pop" like on the Dolomite or be nicely understated like the S19.

Yeah but Easton now has the Stealth, the ST and the Synergy in black. That's a lot of black ahah

My EQ50 came in this morning. I took out the end plug and held the stick; it felt a bit blade-heavy. Then, I put in the plug with the weights, and it had that nice blade-light feel. Interesting how adding more weight can make the stick feel lighter.

I agree that the EQ50 graphics are nice, but Easton's got too many black sticks. The Synergy should be silver.

All this silver and black talk... Bring back the GOLD! One of the best sticks ever.

Forget painting the sticks period. Go back to visible kevlar/carbon weave a la 1st gen ultra lite/z-bub shafts!!!!!! Ok I know the weave was colored but I loved that look.

Like the S17's have the carbon fiber towards the blade/hosel area?

yeah and the U+ CL. nude carbon.

agreed. love the look. less paint on the stick means less potential for cosmetic blemish, too.

I've been saying this one for years.

I love the look on the One95s and X60s where you can see the the actual fiber or, on Eastons, the kevlar that has been used. Makes for a GREAT-looking stick. Plus, Easton is (as far as I know) the only manufacturer to use kevlar on their sticks (still!). Why not advertise this to the new generation of younger players? Show it off! They used to be good about using all kinds of colors of kevlar from brown to yellowish, to olive green and gray. Why not make it a black/gray kevlar mix? Or the Metal Matrix kevlar from the Z-Bubbles was absolutely astounding. That, along with some simple Synergy family graphics, would be incredible and still draw attention from all the kids.

Personally i love the look of the synergy silver. But the more i look at my new sticks the more i like it. There are little details that i just love.

For example you can see the kevlar wrap around the stick if you look closely. See the weave on either side of the E?

I agree on that, my favorite stick appearance wise is definitely the one95. That being said the part on the x:60 where you can see it is sick as well. Easton should make a classic line.

I also agree. However I really disliked the look of the XXXX. It just didn't go well with me. Plus I really liked the old Synergy sticks, with just the simple one color thing(Green ST, Blue ST, Z Bubble).

So I was checking out the EQ50 sticks at Great Skate yesterday. The whole counterweight plug thing is pretty neat but nothing new. Anyone can DIY something similar with any hollow stick plug. It's a sweet stick, but the counterweights will start making its way into other stick lines I'm sure.

Can't wait until I work Friday to the stick out in the shooting range. Interesting concept the EQ50 has.

The only way the other companies would start to make weighted plugs is if they decide to put weights in the blade.

Also saw the EQ50's at Just Hockey in toronto for anybody interested

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone have any information on the EQ50 shaft and replacement blade?

If I had to guess... based on Easton's past history with their shafts, the EQ50 shaft will simply be a repainted SE16 shaft with the customizable end plug. And the EQ50 blade will be a repainted SE16 blade, possibly with the weights in it, but who knows?

Easton took the original T-Flex shaft and then it turned into the Synthesis, Synergy II, Synergy Elite, and SE16 shafts.

They also took the original Synthesis tapered blade and it became the Synergy II, Synergy Elite, and SE16 blades.

So as I said, I know nothing, but based on their patterns of "new" shafts...
