@smu don't sweat it. A couple of things might help. 1) if you you want to connect with a member directly, use the private message function. 2) posts on forums are best when they are direct and to the point. Skip the story, just give us the details. 3) if you need to reference your initial post, don't type it out again, just link it. Again, direct and to the point.

For example, the Prosharp section. Perhaps in 2019 we'll see more brands work with us.

Not you he was referring to SMU. Alan has reposted the exact account of his dilemma every time. And while we all feel for him with the issue. We are all pretty much over hearing the entire story that is no so long it takes up an entire page with 3 or 4 other responses. But I have had the same success with fitting of Pro Stock boots. Just took the original measurements and checked to see how close and so far all but 2 have been very good fits. One came back after a couple skates but sold that skate again to a rec player that had odd feet and was able to make them work. Have a great day!!!

Hey, Paddy. I'm the manager at Sterling, and I can say our Inventory levels have been getting higher and higher throughout the year, and will continue to increase this year. Do we have everything we would like currently? Definitely not, but that's going to be drastically change over the next couple of months. Let me know if you have any questions!

If you want hassle free, low maintenance skating stick with ls2, you aren't playing nhl so you don't need the speed of change or the few extra mm of clearance. I've never had a ls2 holder flop on me when I put it in the jig to sharpen but I've seen plenty of edge holders do it and the only real fix is to replace them. For around $20 you can get a new holder (ebay, sideline etc) so get it changed if you think it is the problem.

How many times do we really need to read the same story? Move on, already.

As we are in our 15th year of existence (3/20 being the official date), we will be using this logo to commemorate it: It will also be featured on SummerJam and Winterfest jerseys on a patch, and we'll also have a t-shirt. Absolutely crazy that we've been around so long. Thanks goes to everyone who has helped us out along the way.

Fusion Runners get bent a lot easier than other runners. I had problem with fusion getting bent after a shot hitting it. I stopped using them a long time ago. I love the edge holders and are currently using step black steel which is the best steel out there in my opinion

No signal when the goalie covers it. Often a ref will point to one circle with a “this side, boys” if there’s any question on which side it will be on but usually it’s pretty obvious. No, you shouldn’t be signaling offsides or saying anything at all unless the puck goes back into the zone. You don’t need to SAY anything at all, though if it’s obvious that the attacking team doesn’t realize they’re offside and are pressuring the defensive team you may yell “OFFSIDE!” until they get the hint. For icing, one ref does NOTHING except raise their hand if the puck was shot from before center. The other ref does NOTHING except blow the play dead once it crosses the goal line (and subsequently raising their hand and retrieving the puck). Ive seen in adult leagues countless times where somebody complains to the near ref (who does the face off after the icing) that it should have been waived off, not realizing that that ref is not responsible for that. (Of course there are some exceptions, like if either ref sees it tipped or deflected the can certainly waive it off) And... yeah, there’s a reason we spend a good 10 minutes dropping pucks during the seminar 😉 It’s not as easy as it looks. Though most guys reffing adults don’t really care. We have one that basically stands sideways and tosses it down. Doesn’t even get square. I think I covered everything you asked but I’m replying on my phone 🙂 Did you get a copy of the basic manual?

The fit is unlike any other skate out there. Anyone coming from any other skate will notice a big difference just putting them on after baking, even if they weren't made for them but are the same size and width. I never realized how poorly my old skates fit /felt until I wore my trues. I never had really any complaints with my old skates but when you compare the two it's quite amazing how much negative space I had in my old skates, and how bad the heel lock was. Double edge sword with the Trues is that because they are pretty locked in, you'll notice just the smallest areas that don't fit the way you think it should and it'll start mind effing you. I spent hrs tinkering my right skate to get it to feel like my left just because I wanted both to feel the exact same. I'm as close as I will get at this point with what I have done and I'm very happy, but it can also make u pretty OCD as well!

I’m gonna go with yes there are a good number of these cases. I know of probably a dozen or so people who have gotten lucky because someone ponied up the cash for true/VH skates only to end up selling them for whatever reasons and most times at a pretty big loss. And I’ll add as someone who has gotten a pair secondhand that they fit and perform amazingly even if not made specifically for you. No issues, bake em, lace em up and go skate never had any problems. Call it luck I guess or perhaps there’s a chance the product is that good and you can dial in a fit even if its in the ballpark of your foot.

Stick with the ls2 or get new ls2 holders if yours are somewhat beat up already. Your lhs should be able to tell if your holder is the reason. I've never been a fan of the edge holders... The steel is way more locked in with the ls2s..

Please elaborate on what you think i'm saying is incorrect. Also, everyone that has allowed me to adjust their skates further has been satisfied. There have been one or two customers that do not want to make adjustments (normally, these are customers who are against the brand from the starting point and want the skates to not fit when they arrive) and those are the only issues I have had. I spent a large portion of time with Rob last summer analyzing all of the aspects of your remade pair to ensure everything was made according to my specifications. You came in for the bake, and never reached out again, outside of on here. As I have said months ago to you on this forum, I am always available to work with clients to ensure the skates are made exactly to customer specifications. If there was an additional issue, let me solve it. One important note as well, "pro - fit" is not a box to be checked during the fitting to request that less materials be used for a tighter fit. They are simply taking the materials and removing excess negative space - at the beer league / recreational level, this is often not as comfortable. However, I can easily accomplish this fit by myself in store during a tightening appointment. Other shops may not have this capability, so this is a helpful bit of information to know, but it does not necessarily carry as much weight as what has been alluded to here. At the end of the day, you are open to your opinion, but the skates are custom made entirely to the skaters foot using Scott's patented lasting system. There will be information coming out in the next few weeks that will further reinforce this.

Let’s let’s go ahead and get back on topic so we don’t end up with pages of complaining about there being pages of complaining.

There was a long unwieldy custom Bauer thread for a long time, when they were the main custom game in town. Theres a long unwieldy Mako thread. A long unwieldy Base thread. There was a long unwieldy Sprung thead in the roller section. We have typically been served well by keeping specific info about a product in one thread. If I’m new to a product, I’d rather have it all in one place, than have to fumble through a million small threads with 4 posts. If the product cycle weren’t so quick now, you'd see long threads on sticks and skates. Products disappear too quickly to build up more involved threads and discussion.

From previous posts it’s quite obvious that he has had badly fitting skates from True, at least twice. As for the current ones, I can only accept what he says. Honestly I think he’d be better off getting his money back and going with Bauer or CCM. I don’t doubt the quality of True skates for most people but it looks like they failed smu/Alan.

Went on our longest hike yet. 10+ miles up a mountain (2300’ increase up to about 8900’). The top 1/3 or so was in snow and we had to wear spikes on our boots. Walking almost nonstop for 6.5 hours! Amazing views!
