I was really looking forward to getting a peek at the new Warrior Ak27 shaft... My LHS just got some in, and they felt pretty nice. The only downside (if it's an actual downside, who knows) is all the graphics are flaking off of them in the store.

Yes, oddly enough all of the graphics peel easily on the new warriors. I am NOT a fan of standard shafts, but decided to give it a try. The shaft is awesome, I would defintely recommend it!

One of the nicer skates I've seen in years. Props to Bauer for for putting together a sweet graphics package. Hopefully the skate itself lives up to the hype.

has been mentioned, he's another one of those guys that seem to switch his stick a lot. I've seen him go from dolos to 10k to s17 and back to 10k.

I saw a video of Mario doing a "Make a wish" with a young Pens fan on FSN Pittsburgh, and he was wearing the same skates as Gonch.

Is it just me or does the shell of them look rather similar to kor/toprso (you know, the speed skate-like design)? it appears to really curve down to the holder in the same fashion.

gonchar's skates are one of a kind (besides mario lemeiux wearing them).. as far as i know.. i heard one of the broadcaster's say during a game that.. gonchar's skates were custom made by a close friend cause he was having a hard time finding a skate that he felt was stiff enough for his liking. i can't find a link though.

they're not kors or torpso.

I never said that they were, only that they appear to share the same design that's been derived from speed skates. It differs slightly from eastons one-peice shell for example, in that it is a lot more curved going down to the mounting points. other skates that have a seperate outsole or even eastons design turns more sharply at the base giving a larger, flatter area across the bottom of the skate.

Just something I noticed, very slick looking skates though
