I empty the tray and vacuum it out every few weeks. Depends on how much it gets used. My every few weeks might be someone else's weekly thing.

Sounds like your son is better off than I was. My screws are pan heads and sit proud of the plate. They aren't so bad now. If he ends up needing new skates. The upper end models in the Ribcor line have the most comfortable ankle packs I have ever tried. I know that option is available on custom Jetspeeds and Tacks. Hopefully it doesn't get to that but worth mentioning.
-
Yes, I have had that exact thing happen. The chip in the ring wasn't active. No hack, they replaced it.

So I have screws and plates in my ankle as well. Last screw of the bunch is almost directly on the point on my ankle bone. When I started skating again there was some discomfort. I ended up having the ankle punched out a bit. Worked like a charm, no more pain or discomfort. I've had that done in every skate since except for my 1X. There was never a need so I didn't bother. I wouldn't plan for the worse just yet. See how it feels when he starts skating again. Maybe a punch is all he'll need. I tried the foam rings. They never stayed in place and they were hard to put on. Has the surgeon mentioned wether or not the hardware will be permanent or not? I still have mine but I know others who've had it removed once they were fully healed. They offered to remove mine but prefaced it with "well if it's not bothering you why risk going back in to remove it".

I’ve rehabbed everything from bumps & bruises, to broken bones, to torn ligaments…including multiple injuries to my hands and wrists. Each time I successfully returned to the ice without issue. The key is putting in the work to strengthen the affected areas. My guess, you weren’t really ready to come back and you re-aggravated it by doing so. That most likely put you right back to square 1. Me, I usually test things out in a low risk setting like stick time or public skating. I start off light, pushing harder each time. If something doesn’t feel right, I am done. Remember, feeling good and ready to play hockey are two completely different things. I'd say, work on not just getting your strength back, but get stronger and don't come back until you are ready. If you continue to have issues, then it's time to dissect your kit.

Grips, different length sticks, switching hands... Dude, you are way overthinking this.

Very desperate for help fixing uncommon skate profile problem

You need both blades profiled the exact same way. If not, you'll be chasing the issue forever. -
Yes, but those other brands are readily available at your LHS and have a bit of brand recognition. And its not like Base comes at a discounted price, $189 for a stick, $69 for a blade. Yikes!
-
But you have to buy a Base stick or blade...

Hence the name Synergy - the interaction or cooperation of two or more organizations, substances, or other agents to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects. I think I'd grab a halfway decent tapered shaft and a few different blades to start. But it sounds like we're past that point. The Sakic you remember is not the Sakic you see mentioned today (P92). It's deeper than the original and way more open. A real Sakic from back in the day is actually closer to a P88 than a P92, which most call it's clone.

Like new, and I cannot stress that enough. It was only used it a few times in warmups. I bought it to try the P30 pattern. Measures roughly 64" toe to buttend. Asking $100 shipped within North America, Buttendz grip not included.

If the holders & runners are equal size and the holders are mounted properly. The points on the profile should be the same. Sounds like your skate guy is over thinking it. -
I believe that's what's used in the 70k.

I bet you'd end up seeing a good deal of Coffey curves in men's league, if it was offered. That was 'the curve' of the mid 80's. Anyone from ages 40 to 55 or so has used a Coffey at one point.

You're better off looking at eBay or sidelineswap for pro-stock sticks. Better prices and better selection. Downside of pro-stock is it's a lot more work. You really need to know what you are buying. Be prepared to buy in bulk if you find something you like. You may never get another chance at it.
-
Don't bother. There is no super secret stick company out there churning out elite twigs at half the cost. Start looking into pro-stocks and closeouts on previous years top models. If that's not your thing. There are plenty of really good sticks in the $120-150 range.

I've played around a bit with the Fire rings. Mixed results really. First off, nothing at all like a Blackstone FBV. Coming from a 3/4ROH I found the 3/4 Fire did not have the same level of grip as the 3/4ROH. I switched to the 5/8 Fire which felt fairly close to my 3/4ROH. So if you want a Fire ring that's close to your regular hollow, I suggest going one step sharper. So if you're using a 5/8ROH, get a 1/2 Fire. My advice would be to dial in what ROH works then make the switch to a Fire ring....remember to go one step sharper. I'd start with a 5/8ROH.

I've done litterly tons of PT (hip, knee x2, ankle, hand and elbow/bicep) and it definitely helps. Seems silly because what they have you do is so simple. I'd give the thumbhole brace a go without tape. You might find your wrist is working against the tape making things worse. The other thing I tried was that stretchy tape you see guys use on the top hand of their sticks. It adds a decent level of support. It can be a bit costly to use consistently which is why I went for the soft brace.

Complete with white gloves and skate lace shin wraps...good Lord.

Rumors are now fact. Kessel was dealt to the Coyotes along with D Dane Birks and a 2021 4th rounder for Alex Galchynuk, Pierre-Oliver Joesph.

I've worked through various bouts of tendonitis. Remember, tendonitis is caused by overuse, so rest is about the only thing you can do. Laid back or not, there is something about hockey that aggrivates your wrist. I'd restart the rest thing and look into a soft wrist brace when you return. The KT tape is nice but doesn't offer the type of support you need during recovery. I bought some cheapo brace from CVS when my wrist bothered me. I used KT after ditching the brace.

When you find something you like...well, you know. From top to bottom 4 Pro-Stock Nexus 2016 1N's 82 flex P28's, 2 clear (DeAngelo) & 2 grip (NCAA) 1 Pro-Stock Alpha QX 75flex P28, (EK65, T8 build)

But the people who buy are saying "screw that, move on". Both sides have valid points. However what seems to be overlooked by one half is it's up to the consumer how they want to spend their money. Some people are willing to deal with a little BS, others aren't. Me, if spent that kind of cash on a custom made skate and it was off by that much, no way I do business with that company again. If they didn't fit and I got that same response from True, no way I go back, not in a million years. Still baffles me how many screw ups there are on an item made specifically to the customers foot. Maybe they should have refined their process before putting time and effort into a holder.
-
Man, glad you guys don't offer restaurant recommendations. The OP is obviously frustrated with True. He was promised and paid for a product and service he did not receive. When he pointed it out, their response was in his opinion unsatisfactory. So why the hell would he continue to do business with them.... I wouldn't.

I found the puck feel on the QX to be miles better than the QRL and the QX was a bit more forgiving when it came to hand placement. I'd say blade lie and flex rating are far more important than kick point or blade pattern.
