  1. Hence the name Synergy - the interaction or cooperation of two or more organizations, substances, or other agents to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects. I think I'd grab a halfway decent tapered shaft and a few different blades to start. But it sounds like we're past that point. The Sakic you remember is not the Sakic you see mentioned today (P92). It's deeper than the original and way more open. A real Sakic from back in the day is actually closer to a P88 than a P92, which most call it's clone.
  2. Like new, and I cannot stress that enough. It was only used it a few times in warmups. I bought it to try the P30 pattern. Measures roughly 64" toe to buttend. Asking $100 shipped within North America, Buttendz grip not included.
  3. If the holders & runners are equal size and the holders are mounted properly. The points on the profile should be the same. Sounds like your skate guy is over thinking it.
  4. I believe that's what's used in the 70k.
  5. I've played around a bit with the Fire rings. Mixed results really. First off, nothing at all like a Blackstone FBV. Coming from a 3/4ROH I found the 3/4 Fire did not have the same level of grip as the 3/4ROH. I switched to the 5/8 Fire which felt fairly close to my 3/4ROH. So if you want a Fire ring that's close to your regular hollow, I suggest going one step sharper. So if you're using a 5/8ROH, get a 1/2 Fire. My advice would be to dial in what ROH works then make the switch to a Fire ring....remember to go one step sharper. I'd start with a 5/8ROH.
  6. I've done litterly tons of PT (hip, knee x2, ankle, hand and elbow/bicep) and it definitely helps. Seems silly because what they have you do is so simple. I'd give the thumbhole brace a go without tape. You might find your wrist is working against the tape making things worse. The other thing I tried was that stretchy tape you see guys use on the top hand of their sticks. It adds a decent level of support. It can be a bit costly to use consistently which is why I went for the soft brace.
  7. Complete with white gloves and skate lace shin wraps...good Lord.
  8. I've worked through various bouts of tendonitis. Remember, tendonitis is caused by overuse, so rest is about the only thing you can do. Laid back or not, there is something about hockey that aggrivates your wrist. I'd restart the rest thing and look into a soft wrist brace when you return. The KT tape is nice but doesn't offer the type of support you need during recovery. I bought some cheapo brace from CVS when my wrist bothered me. I used KT after ditching the brace.
  9. When you find something you like...well, you know. From top to bottom 4 Pro-Stock Nexus 2016 1N's 82 flex P28's, 2 clear (DeAngelo) & 2 grip (NCAA) 1 Pro-Stock Alpha QX 75flex P28, (EK65, T8 build)
  10. I believe Tydan and Bionic are the only ones. Could be more that I am not familiar with though.
  11. If you're off at say the heel, you should be off the same amount at every point on the blade. The carriage position is fixed as is the blade placement. So there is no way it can ride from left edge to right edge. I could be wrong, but thats how I understand it. Also keep in mind that most steel is punched. So it's not perfectly flat. If it's not perfectly flat, using the above method may give you a false reading.
  12. You can reach in and move the alignment wheel closer to the alignment tool by simply pushing up on the wheel.
  13. @Monty22 Reports are out. Bergeron, groin. Marchand, wrist, abdomen & groin. Pasta, thumb was reaggravated in the CBJ series. Noel Accari was playing with a fractured sternum and left in a walking boot after a shot block in game 7. John Moore was playing with a broken humorous which requires surgery, he's out 6 months. Chara had multiple jaw fractures and a lower body injury that kept him out of game 4 of the ECF. Can you imagine playing against St Louis with a fractured sternum, good Lord that's some balls.
  14. @flip12man give it a rest. It wasn't a dive. The entire hockey world calls it a trip and say it was a call that the refs missed. The series can be summed up in one stat. Marchand, Bergeron, Krejci & Pasta combined had one 5 on 5 goal in the finals. That's your #1 line and your second line center. The only goal you could manage in game 7 was from Matt Grzelyck.
  15. Not the best analogy. That 1000hp car isn't made for traffic, really not even meant to be used as a daily driver. Whats a composite outsole cost Bauer per skate, a few bucks? It's obvious Bauer is cutting corners in areas where those buying it won't care and/or won't notice a difference.
  16. The only problem with putting Backed back in is it really slows down Krejci and DeBrusk. If they manage to win it, Backes will be ready to celebrate with the guys. I suspect Chara hands it him first ala Joe Sakic.
  17. And at this point, a quick release holder is simply keeping up with the times.
  18. Appreantly same crew as game 6. Not sure if that means anything but generally, they let the boys play.
  19. I agree. You don't get to game 7 by accident. That said, this Bruins team has shown us they play their best hockey when their back is against the wall. Now you have Rask dialed back in and the top two lines are going. Anything is possible, but not looking good for STL.
  20. The Blues hitting game is finally taking its toll on them (The Blues). The Blues looked tight and the Bruins beat them to just about every puck.
  21. No, I did not. My overall goal is to get the max amount of blade contact without sacrificing mobility. Now had my mobility been crap, I might have tried something else. Plus I knew if it didn't work I could just go back to one of the quads.
  22. Let's for a second say Accari dove, which is just horse shit, but let's say he did. Why wasn't he called for embellishment? If the refs didn't want to disrupt the outcome, call both the trip and a dive. Either way you slice it, the refs blew it....or didn't blow it, the whistle that is.
  23. Steel: STEP Edge 246mm Hollow: ¾ ROH About me: Skating in general has never really been an issue. I’ve always been able to get to where I need to be. I started skating a young and grew up on a lake, so plenty of ice time in the winter. There are some aspects of my skating that could be better. I have had issues with decreased agility and lack of overall stability in the past. Normally I rotate two sets of steel. The first set is stock Bauer LS4 profiled to a Quad 0 by Shayne from Pro Sharp, the second is stock STEP Edge. When I started this program I purchased a set of Tydan from the pro shop here at MSH. The stock STEP profile is my control set. Review: I had two different profiles come back at the same time, a Quad 1 and the 9.5/50mm/10.5, which I am reviewing here. Having spent a good deal of time on a Quad 0 I was really interested in trying the Quad 1 so that’s what I went with first. I was pretty much set with the Quad 1 but in fairness to the program I felt I needed to give the 9.5/50mm/10.5 a shot. Mobility on the quads is pretty much effortless. The Glide 50 required a bit more effort but an improvement over the stock 10’ profile on my control set. Getting up off the line was fairly easy. The Hudson V performed well in tight spaces. Tight turns and quick changes in direction were good. The big win was in the speed and stability. I felt as though I got more glide with this profile, which in turn led to an increase in overall top speed. When it comes to stability. I think I prefer this over any profile I have use to date. The Hudson V is like a Quad 1 and a Zuperior S had a child. The mobility and acceleration of the quad with the speed and stability of the Zup S. The trouble now is, which one. I am conflicted. Both the 9.5/50mm/10.5 and Quad 1 work really well for me. I’ll probably spend more time on these before making a final call. One thing to note here. With this profile (9.5/50mm/10.5) I feel like I could go with a deeper hollow. I don’t feel like I had the same amount of bite as I did with other profiles. Mobility: 3.5 Stability: 4.5 Speed: 4 Acceleration: 4 Final Ranking (First to worst) 1) Quad 1 / Hudson V 2) See above-mentioned 3) Quad 0 4) Stock 10' 5) 9'/10'
  24. Sounds like he's a go for tonight. I am a bit skeptical but this is the finals.
  25. Chara participated in today's optional skate. He and Grzelcyk are listed as game time decisions. Grzelcyk shed the non-contact jersey and was a full participant. In other news. NE Patriots WR Julian Eldeman was on the field today sporting a Bruins jersey.
