I feel like they had a round bar version (4500/5100) and flat bar (7500/9900) and the only difference was the helmet it was sold as a combo on. I may be misremembering though

If you want durability, but can compromise on skate pockets, the 851 can't be beat imo https://jrzglobalsports.com/hockey-bags

MyBauer Custom Stick 4 Inch Extension
Buzz_LightBeer replied to Nikolas90's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
I’ve had a few recently that are definitely 4” Comp plugs. If you cut off more than 4” you can see where the tenon is doubled in the shaft. A 1X Lite and a Vapor ADV. you can see where the fuse point is painted over and you can remover the tenon as well. -
MyBauer Custom Stick 4 Inch Extension

4” fused composite plug i believe CCM, Warrior and True all offer legitimate length of shaft customization, but I’ve been out of the custom game for a while -
Sparx Skate Sharpener - At home sharpener

Int the middle half of the blade like that, I’d consider giving a few extra passes, and even running the honing stone along the edges before and after. if it had been towards the ends, I’d be less concerned. -
I did, once. Felt like I was wearing an egg carton on my head

That makes a lot more sense, it looked like plastic inserts that could fall off

Can’t believe that’s somehow not considered a safety hazard 🤷🏽♂️

Helmet Ads likely to stay past this season
Buzz_LightBeer replied to SirJW's topic in NHL Discussions
It seemed inevitable, but if it buys a few more years before jersey ads become a thing, it's not the hill i care to die on -
VH Footwear/TRUE by Scott Van Horne

I didn't, i removed them, but i prefer a thin footbed and being right on top of the outsole and holder, and my foot has pretty high volume so negative space wasn't an issue -

I have flat feet, and used the cheap generic footbeds from Elite and really liked them. The right balance of volume and give. Elite Hockey, Ice Hockey Skate, Pro Insoles (Size Choice) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VEEUGLE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_GFCV8ZGAEPVZ9QHWPGVR -

I get that, I think a message got lost in the exchange there. It seems implausible that True would refuse to send holders now if asked. It would seem more likely that True said he could get custom skates, or custom boots only, but the price remains the same. Aside from that, the retailer he's purchasing through should be handling all these issues for him. -

I have no motivation to defend True, but what are they doing so differently from Bauer and/or CCM? You are paying for a custom complete skate, the fact you don't like or want their holders means zero to them. None of those companies at the retail custom level will ship you boots only. -

Just playing devil's advocate here, but ask Bauer or CCM to install another companies holder, and I'm guessing you'll get the same answer. True has their own holder now. They're not going to stock Tuuk holders for Gen Pop custom orders -
extra lower back, kidney protection ?

At that price, I’d definitely do those
