  1. Just playing devil's advocate here, but ask Bauer or CCM to install another companies holder, and I'm guessing you'll get the same answer. True has their own holder now. They're not going to stock Tuuk holders for Gen Pop custom orders
  2. I’d worry more about the ice or the boards, especially if the skill is low enough guys have trouble controlling themselves on skates. but Verbero still does the Ferrell style shirts and pads
  3. crosby using the PP77 Coffey in practice
  4. Jut thinking out loud, but wasn’t that a service they offered prior to having their own holder? I could see them offering to mount CCM, Bauer or Step holders previously but now that they have a holder/steel combo I can understand the restrictions.
  5. Quite nice. I tried an ADV Vapor and felt a little heft in the blade end that this doesn’t have. Haven’t gotten it on ice yet for a full go.
  6. Well, I thought I knew what light was...
  7. on the forehand, yes. on the backhand, less so
  8. Henderson goes with chrome domes and dazzle cloth. Thanks, but no thanks.
  9. I was always of the opinion that the P91 and P28 were of similar lie, length and shape, that the toe curve was the only adjustment. Not too difficult
  10. Are they thinner than the Pro Guard or Howie's models? I'm not overly familiar with it
  11. It really isn’t a drastic change at all, I’ve been experimenting on sets for 5 years or so. Guys have been using similar blades prior to these being marketed. It was a speed skating concept dating back to the late 90’s. there are enough reference points on the steel to align the sharpener, it’s a breeze. A light home with a rubber stone works.
  12. https://jacksonskate.com/collections/jackson-ultima-outfits/products/softec-sport-men-v0 we used to sell a ton of these to kids learning to skate. It’s an easier transition from shoes to these to skates in my opinion. It’s less important to be hockey specific, focus first on skating, balance, and comfort on the ice. They also resell, and hand me down very well. They have a reasonably reliable size guide on the site, and I think you may even find these at Dicks as well
  13. Maybe midwest bias, but an old Christian with the diamond blade design my look good
  14. For sale is a pair of brand new pair of 2S Pro skates and holders. 9EET10 both Left and Right. Never baked, brand new LS2 Edge holder and LS5 Carbon steel. Reflex tongue, anchored (not C-flex) tendon guard. Lock Fit pro liner. Update, holders have been attached so skates are complete $529 plus shipping. Willing to take on reasonable offers.
  15. Couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this for sale on SLS. Blade isn’t in the greatest shape but I really didn’t care
  16. I think Pro Kennex might’ve OEM’ed some obscure shafts in the late 90’s but I don’t know their word mark was ever used
  17. I put spray insulating foam in my skates after I tie them. It eliminates negative space and helps achieve better heel lock.
  18. And yet, a red band and CCM word mark is gaudy and trash. What a world we live in. 🤷🏽‍♂️
  19. This. People might be amazed how common this is among pros
  20. I used to soak the blade in a bucket of water before heating, wet blades are less prone to crack. If you've got a bench vice, you can sandwich the lade between pieces of 2x4 or 1x4 and get it pretty flat
