As an older gent like yourself but many many moons removed from weighing 150 lbs I can suggest we used Windex way back in my day to 'add grip'. I'll be honest its been a while and I don't remember if it actually worked or not but maybe give it a shot over a replacement set of wheels for $90? Would also have to ask what wheels do you use, brand wise? What type of surface, etc.? Its been a while since I was on wheels but when I used to play I would try every wheel there was and I would always end up back with Labeda Addictions.

I’m gonna go with yes there are a good number of these cases. I know of probably a dozen or so people who have gotten lucky because someone ponied up the cash for true/VH skates only to end up selling them for whatever reasons and most times at a pretty big loss. And I’ll add as someone who has gotten a pair secondhand that they fit and perform amazingly even if not made specifically for you. No issues, bake em, lace em up and go skate never had any problems. Call it luck I guess or perhaps there’s a chance the product is that good and you can dial in a fit even if its in the ballpark of your foot.

If you can afford to go on a 2 month vacation I am curious as to why any location would be cost prohibitive ha.

I guess I'm old enough now to play the 'back in my day' card and explain to these whippersnappers what a heavy skate really is. Not to mention if my dad spent a grand on skates and I whined to him that they were too heavy, he would've duct taped 20lbs weight to my ankles everyday and told me to get stronger to get used to the weight. I've been around this game long enough and worn enough pairs of skates that given a choice I'm taking a pair of True/VH over every pair I've ever worn. Not only for the comfort/fit factor but because I actually think the fit of the skate will put you in the proper position and make you a better skater. OK maybe not a better skater, you're not gonna go from beer leaguer to McDavid, but maybe a better way to describe it is skating will feel more natural. Count me in and call me a Kool-Aid drinker but as far as I'm concerned I won't use another skate.

The concept sound like the Mission ViBE inline chassis version of an ice holder. Also curious about the Marsblade 'adjustments' they are going to make and if there are any options for the user to tinker with like the Mission Pitch holder.

Poor guy having to hang em up because of all his injuries. I know he had similar neck issues around the same time I had mine so I've kept tabs on his recovery, unfortunately now the lack thereof recovery. Hope at least he can heal up enough to not stop him from living a normal life.

Those Luxe are gorgeous, everything else is meh.

Gonna have to give the quad 0 a try. I've been on the Quad2 for the last couple of years and thought it made a huge difference in my skating. As much I loved the quad 2 on my APX and 1x, it wasn't until I switched to True/VH skates that I really can feel that back 13/16' when I am skating. I don't mind it for the straight aways and gliding but I can feel that length a lot more in the Trues and to get going feels a little clunky.

Could & should probably go in the sweet spot thread...but going back to work sucks. I was fortunate to find a job quickly (& close to home) but having a few weeks off to spend with my son was awesome and now you realize it’s back to the grind for a loooooong one, ha.

Ethereum at $847, up almost $500 in the last month. I got in because I liked the tech applications of it...not hating the jump in price either, ha!

I got in way too late on Bitcoin but still have seen a nice uptick. That being said I got in early on Ethereum and that has played out nicely. I am no expert in any of this but from what I've read (and kinda understand) I think Ethereum will have better applications of its blockchain tech down the road versus bitcoin. Either way its been a pretty fun ride.

Whats the minimum on ordering from true if you send in a sample to be cloned?

Hey @Skate Mod I read you’re manifesto, I mean website...gotta say some real great info, other stuff, a little head scratching. I need to give it another tons of info! I’m with @oldtrainerguy28 and am kind of curious of your background here. Biomechanics phd? Former R&D at one of the big companies? Pro skate rep? My post count or 23 second of a men’s league shift where I can actually skate halfway decent don’t make me an expert, but I’m of a mindset where I’ll trust someone based on their background, etc. I’ve been around the block a little and your site is fascinating, but I’ve never seen anyone skating with a ‘H’ notched out of their boot. That said, I’m curious to know more and hear some more info from you.

Could just be me and the way I shoot or maybe a bad batch or something. The blade to me just doesn't feel crisp is the best way to explain it, not as responsive as other sticks I use.
