2013-2014 Gear Sightings

Recommended Posts

He was in an Easton helmet starting a few games or so I think. Before the season started, he was telling me that one of the reasons why he chose Warrior was because he loved how their sticks felt. Funny considering that the first piece of Warrior gear he switched out of was the stick, instead opting for Easton.

I guess he decided feel means nothing if pucks aren't hitting the back of the net! ;) haha

Hope the gear change does some good for him...

Been seeing quite a few players sporting the new CCM helmet lately. Just saw Bergeron with it a few days ago. I'm still a big fan of the v10 and v08 look.

Marchand and Lucic both done with their TO NXG's. Lucic in the Ribcor and Marchand in the AX1LT. The Warrior is a great looking stick.

What an odd tape job on that knob...

g3 curve haha there is another one a few ones down where he talks about it again and where he got the knob from

IIRC he also has that exact same extension put into each one of his sticks

The worn out knob is his lucky charm. He actually lost it in Boston during game 6 of the finals vs. Vancouver, he left to Vancouver for game 7 without it and when he found out it wasn't in Vancouver for game 7, he had the staff in Boston look all over for it, find it, and overnight ship it to Vancouver for the game.

I just noticed that Bergeron is now sporting CCM 4-Rolls. Outside of Hossa and Steven Weiss, I don't know of any other player with a one-way contract that uses them. I'm a fan.

Interesting a Reebok sponsored athlete is slowly being switched over to CCM. Must be part of the "phase out" of Reebok @ the NHL level.

Watching TSN Sportscentre, segment on Ovechkin's return against the Canadiens last night. It looked like Ovechkin had a Lokomotiv logo in the centre of his shoulder pads.

That was already covered in the OD1N thread. More than likely it's just a logo created specifically for the OD1N line.

He was posting in response to ktang's post, suggesting ktang was seeing the new Bauer logo rather than the lokomotiv logo.

No, the logo was white, red, light blue, and circular, with the train locomotive.

Edit: found the video of the segment. Natasha Staniszewski is doing the narrative - I like her.

It's at the bottom of the sternum, and it looks like it says "In Memory of" (in black) at the top third of the circle. The red and blue Lokomotiv logo is there.

It doesn't look like he is wearing the OD1N shoulder pads; they have the stylized "8" logo on the caps.
