  1. That was going to be my entry. Since it's covered. How about something a bit more recent, https://driblades.com/
  2. We can't answer that, only he can. We can however add input on the value and legitimacy of the skate.
  3. 400 for new Canadian made ccms is an excellent deal.
  4. I have a couple of retail FT3's (non pro version). They're great sticks. Definitely worth a try. If I had to describe the hybrid kick point I'd say it's feels like a mid kick but shoots like a low kick. Bottom hand placement isn't as critical as other sticks.
  5. Have them sharpened to whatever you had the Kohos sharpened to and try again. Chances are the newer skates have a deeper hollow and if I had to guess a longer profile.
  6. That might be a you thing, not a CCM thing. Which is fine. It's impossible to fit everyone's foot shape. As for the holder mount. Being off by that little. Maybe you could adjust your profile to compensate for the difference. I do agree you about it possibly being mental. If you think it, chances are you'll think it's an issue even if it's not.
  7. I came from 70ks and now wear 100k pros. I too found the 70ks to be the most comfortable skate I have ever worn. The ankle padding was sublime...I have plates and screws on my ankle. It's always a problem area for me. Like the OP I found the 100ks ankle padding to not be up to par with the 70ks. I'd say bake them again and see if that helps. That worked for me but I was still a bit disappointed. Other than that. Keep yours eyes out for NOS 70K/80k's.
  8. Has CCM officially announced that? We've heard lots of rumors but nothing yet from CCM.
  9. Sticks have since been removed.
  10. ^^ This... Also, an edge checker is a must have.
  11. First thing that pops is a side by side comp with the 28 and 92.
  12. They look better, but the red band is still way too big.
  13. Too bad they didn't merge the graphics...
  14. The industry as a whole has been brutal at this sort of thing. Flex ratings should be a standard that all brands follow. A 75 flex warrior should feel roughly the same as a 75 flex Bauer. I know there are other factors at play like kick point but it should be relatively close.
  15. I've been using some zero cushion ski socks from Smartwool lately. Excellent socks. JMO ski socks are better at being skate socks than most skate socks. Way more variety too.
  16. Honestly, I bet it's more mental than anything else. Seems like every time he tries something new once he has an off night, it's right back to his old stuff. Guys like than can fly in just about any skate.
  17. Have you tried the chalk gymnast's use.... What about the stuff pitchers use??? I'm sure there are tons of alternatives. Trial and error.
  18. Bauer used to do them as customs, I think they were called V-Cuts. @dkmiller3356has a pair. There are quite a few NHLer's in tech-mesh boots. They look like the regular curv version minus the shine. Jonathan Toews is probably the most notable.
  19. I wouldn't let just anyone punch a toe cap. Even if they say they can, make sure they've done it before. That said. Why not just go custom?? I am almost positive you can upsize the toe caps on full customs.
  20. My pro stock 90T and retail 90TM's are exact. The extra kink in the toe is the tell.
  21. Sure, but let me start by saying these failures aren't premature. These things are happening to skates that look like they've been to hell and back. That said. It's mostly Bauer with some CCM & Eastons in there. No True cuz no one I skate with is using True.....no one I play against is using True. It should be noted that up until recently (last two years) pretty much everyone was wearing Bauers. Simple math.
  22. I have a few friends with failing boots. The issues they are having are much worse like the outsole separating from the boot, toe caps coming loose, continually replacing rivets broken or cracked tendon guards.

    Cages

Love my RE-ATK Titanium cage. I've had a few instances where I expected the cage to be damaged and not so much as a scratch. Vision wise, it's fine. I don't even notice the bars. If it's something you focus on, you'll never get used to it.
  24. Yeah, though I think it stays at two so users have some variety within the brand.
  25. From my experience. The 5/8ths Fire felt more like a 3/4 ROH. Why not just keep that 11/16ths fresh? It's less wear on the ring. I'll normally do 2 passes for every 4 hours or ice time.
