  1. I've hit this spot a few times over the years, it's an area that doesn't really have any padding in any pants/girdles. Basically where the ass meets the side of the leg/thigh sort of, it's below/behind the big thigh padding but to the side of the tailbone padding, at most you'll only have some soft foam there which doesn't help much. Once it's bruised it's gonna hurt for a few weeks, it's a rough spot with muscle and is prone to being irritated through movement and basic living (sleeping, sitting, etc.). Whenever it has happened to me it never fails I'd fall in the same area in the next game and that would make it worse. There really isn't a pant/girdle that offers heavy protection there (and if there was it would look like a giant diaper), so your best bet is to rest and maybe try something like a sliding short that was mentioned above.
  2. I ditched the velcro a while ago in favor of the old school garter belt, it just works better for me. A couple of months ago I decided I liked how my old 9K girdle had the built in velcro tabs for the old RBK socks and decided to make my own garter belt version by attaching the garter clips to some old velcro that I then stuck to the front velcro on my Super Tacks girdle (I have my thigh pads up just above the middle of the adjustment area so had some room below), I then sewed the clips to the back of the girdle, so it's all connected now and works like a charm. My 6th grade home-ec sewing skills keep coming in handy 😆
  3. They both seem to be the same. I tried both, returned the FV1 and have a Bauer one in the garage since I picked it up used, neither was long enough for me. I wear a large Bauer Profile III cage (CCM cages I'm between a medium and a large which is why I go Bauer for cages). I'm the same as you, wear a small CCM helmet (or medium Bauer) but need a large cage. I was able to wear the Bauer bubble for a couple of games but it just didn't feel comfortable since it was a touch short.
  4. Same, but I don't use a phone to view this site sop maybe the paper clip is a mobile only thing? I guess if a site offers hosting that may work but most forums don't as it requires added storage capacity ($$). You can still host on an image hosting site (most of which have easy to use apps now since we're talking mobile), grab the bbcode which is a copy/paste and can be done on mobile as well, then paste in the forum and share a photo. I'm 42, part of that in-between generation that grew up as tech was growing up so experienced the best of both worlds (and experienced the web before FB where forums were a way of life lol), maybe I just thought this would be common knowledge for anyone younger than me that only knew a life living with tech. Also, I just assume most users are younger than me since most of the teams I'm on, aside from the over 40 one, I'm way older than anyone else 😞 nothing worse than being twice the age of your D partner lol
  5. The process hasn't changed in the past 20 years for posting photos to forums (aside from bbcode becoming the standard instead of the img code which I don't even think exists anymore): Step 1 - host the images somewhere (Flickr, imgur, photobucket if that exists anymore) Step 2: copy the bbcode and post in your msg. Step 3: profit? 😎
  6. Comparison wise an FT3Pro was a higher model stick than the 3X pro (top of the line vs 2 step down), so if it does make a difference it might be that the CCM has slightly better materials and might be a touch lighter (375grams vs 410 grams) Also, the FT3Pro is a Hybrid Kick Point vs the 3X Pro being a low kickpoint, the hybrid is supposed to be a mix between low/mid. Personally if I had to choose between those two I'd go with the FT3Pro. You also might want to consider a Ribcor since that might be closer to the Vapor you're used to being a low kick stick. If you can find a Trigger 4 Pro you might be able to get a deal, I'd steer clear of the Trigger 5's though... I picked up one of those on clearance in December and it didn't feel very good at all (felt almost pingy, was so odd to stickhandle and pass with, even shots didn't feel right), luckily it was slashed and broke and has since been replaced with a Trigger 6 which feels much much better.
  7. I wear a ST girdle as well, I was in a 9K for a while but found the ST to be lighter and more protective. I only had one Tacks style shell and found it did seem a little more on the slim side than the 9K/PP90 shells I was used to. One other thing that makes some shells "girdle" shells is they'll have some velcro tabs that some girdles can attach to, I guess that's useful if you only play on one team or something but I have yet to find a practical use for them myself. I have some 9K/PP90 shells, Warrior Covert shells, and a couple of Bauer PP10 style pant shells, all will fit over a girdle and I've found everything fits different even when marked the same lol (in the PP90's one medium was longer and baggier than another medium even though both tags were marked the same, ended up selling the larger one), so nothing is definite. If you want baggier, I have found the Warrior Dynasty pro stock ones fit a but more on the boxy side and are also usually a little easier to find and sometimes cheaper (HockeyMonkey has them at times on clearance).
  8. I've never heard of a PP12 before so had to go look... PSH lists it as a girdle shell, so my guess would be the PP10 would be a bit looser/more boxy since it's made to fit better over pants. I've always been under the impression pant shells are slightly boxier than girdle shells but I could be wrong lol, most girdle shells have a little extra thin pad on the back of the thighs and usually go a little higher (PP90's even have some kidney protection), where as the pant shells are usually just covers, sometimes with more mesh gusseting in the back.
  9. From what I've found it's the strapping and the overall fit on your arm that matters more than 2pc/3pc as for how it stays on. I've had several elbow pads over the past year or so since I'm between sizes (I'm always looking for that perfect pair and I'm pretty sure it just doesn't exist), some 3 pc some 2 pc and the ones that have fit best and been the most comfortable I've had to modify slightly by shortening the straps. I used to always lean towards 3pc ones (RBZ, Jetspeed) but my 2 favorites are now both 2pc (19k, Super Tacks). Just go try as many on as possible.
  10. I've been using XS for the past almost 3 years and love them. Had Edge holders before and had to repair the trigger twice even though I rarely used it, also I'm on Step which isn't produced for Edge anymore so that's always a plus. So my vote would be to look at XS.
  11. ditto. He has another SLS account as well under Hselect09 and an account on S2K under Hselect09 as well. I've bought sticks from him years ago on s2k which were team level sticks from junior players but it appears he has seriously upped his inventory since then. I would love to know for sure where he is getting them from and if they're all counterfeit or not.
  12. I tried Bladetech SS but this was before I started figuring out the whole profiling thing and it didn't feel right so I took them off and never tried them again (pretty sure this was just a shorter profile than the steel I was on at the time). The quality of Bladetech was nice, definitely nicer than the stock Bauer steel I was using, but I ended up going Step and have since switched to CCM with Step as well.
  13. Can't speak to Bauer but for CCM I saw this awesome chart with all of their shaft shape options and specs, it's in the link below. The "I" is the intermediate so you can see how much smaller it is (not much honestly)... T and R are the ones I've seen most often: http://www.sports2k.com/forum/index.php?/topic/43479-custom-ccm-stick-spec-question/
  14. We're destined to meet up at a MSH fest of some sort one of these days 😀
  15. I just got an FT4Pro from SLS and it looks the same (curious if we got from the same seller). I used it the other night and it felt great (I've used Ribcors for a while and it didn't feel very different). Mine is an 85 but it felt as whippy as my 75 flex sticks, was pretty surprised, now seeing this I'm not sure what I actually got haha I looked mine over and compared it to a regular FT4 and the fonts are definitely different on the namebar as well as the serial#/id numbers on the underside of the shaft. The material appears the same as far as I can tell but I'm no expert on these things. I had cut the stick so I don't have the full sticker (the part with the codes on it is under my tape) but I still had the other half of the sticker, also I noticed inside the shaft that I cut there was a sticker and it appears to say it's a 75 flex not an 85 (score for me since I normally use 75), hard to make out but it says ST2031 75-R inside the shaft and then some Chinese writing. Untitled by Jon Schusteritsch, on Flickr Untitled by Jon Schusteritsch, on Flickr Untitled by Jon Schusteritsch, on Flickr there's a few more pics in this gallery, I didn't want to bombard the thread with them: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjzybdt edit: I was curious so I pealed off my tape and ruined the sticker underneath that would have had the code on it... doh!! So that's a dead end
  16. I used to use it til my son knocked my skate off the hook in the garage and I didn't find out til day of a game and couldn't get to anyplace that used it. I switched back to a regular hollow and now use some sort of flare/fire thingy that my friend at Pure did for me.
  17. The best I've been able to manage is avoiding tax if I pay with cash from some of the smaller shops since they usually have a little more freedom with creative accounting and can benefit as well. I'll usually try this when buying higher priced items like sticks or skates... we're just under 9% sales tax here so it def adds up quick.
  18. The Super Tacks one has a coupe of layers of foam, some D30, and a thick rubbery outer coating, it's beefy. Mine has a slight curve outwards but I just played with it and you can bend it easily and it should hold if you wanted it more inwards. For me, the 9K girdle left a pretty sizeable gap between the spine protector and shoulder pads, that's one of the reasons I like the Super Tacks girdle (also I find the ST more protective and lighter, just wish it had the built in velcro tabs for the socks like the 9K).
  19. I have a Super Tacks girdle and it has an adjustable spine protector which I love, lots of protection and easy to adjust so it sits higher or lower (similar to 7092 girdle but adjustable and, from the sounds of it, much more protective since the Tacks one is like a tank). I had a couple of 9K girdles and they both lacked any sort of spine protection aside from a short piece with a little plastic that didn't move at all, pretty minimal, so I'm not sure how this won't stay in place for you. You're not flipping the tailbone pad up to act like a spine protector are you?
  20. Those NJ "jerseys" are terrible, can't believe someone was paid to design those. Also, on a tri-state related subject, Kaapo Kakko has been using an FT4 Pro stick the past couple of weeks instead of the SherWood he used previously and all of last season. I noticed it when he finally scored a goal so I assume it was the stick that made the difference 🤣
  21. For using on a cage I found the Bauer one worked best followed by the CCM. I felt like Bauer waited a little longer and found a better material to use than CCM which made a difference, they had a nice adjustable nose clip and they also had multiple layers with a filter pocket which was nice if you wanted to add yet another layer of protection). For using while coaching I've tried a handful, the UA ones aren't bad and do breathe well but I was more aware of it while wearing it. In the end I found that regular disposable ones (the accordion looking ones) were the best as they didn't make my face as hot and I could easily replace it if I felt it getting too wet (I'd always have a few on me at any time, buying a huge box of black ones from Costco means I never worry about wasting any lol). As for talking, I didn't find any of them actually affected my ability to speak or be heard, maybe if I spoke really low but pretty sure people would then have a hard time understanding me with or without a mask.
  22. I'm with PBH... check out Sole footbeds. I had a pair a long time ago and they were definitely on the thicker side (I don't remember which modeI I had, they have a lot of different ones), I remember they were heat moldable and more on the cushioned side rather than a hard insert, the ones I had didn't have a ton of arch support (less than Superfeet Carbon which I wear now). Might be worth checking out: https://yoursole.com/us
  23. They do look good, I'm on my way to converting you 🤣 I won my game on the other rink 4-1 with a goal and an assist, must've been the yellow laces. If you guys ever need a fill in let me know, you'll get a ton of photos in return lol
  24. Ran into this guy @dkmiller3356 last night, looking sweet with those yellow laces 🤣 October 19, 2021-0009-J. Schusteritsch-web-2 by Jon Schusteritsch, on Flickr
