zebra_steve 11 Report post Posted April 9, 2010 Unless she is skating a lot between now and September, I really find it hard to sell skates at this time of year when the kids can no longer wear their skates for Spring hockey. I hope she skates all year round! :)She'll be on the ice at least 2x per week until mid June... more if we do public sessions or stick time. Had no choice but to get them..... If she out grows them then I'll just have to find her another pair...... Now I need to plug the holes on my other daughters Harlicks, refinish the soles, and mount blades in the next couple weeks... tjl_48 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2010 (edited) Yea it angers me as well, and the logo is going to be the same in the stadium for a while The Sioux logo will never leave the Ralph. They may be able to get at a few or most of them but they are inlaid everywhere. Ralph made sure of that. Plus the GM of the Ralph said nothing will change about the rink as long as he has a say. chippa13 1844 Report post Posted April 9, 2010 Tuning to ESPN to watch the last 1/3 of the BC/Miami game. Too bad I tuned in just in time to hear that they'll be back with the "Halftime report." Game was on the deuce, that might have been part of your problem.

It's a bummer though, the Sioux logo is great. How is it that UND can no longer be the Fighting Sioux but it is ok for the Washington Redskins to exist? That is way more offensive. gxc999 7 Report post Posted April 10, 2010 I did a heavy leg workout Tuesday, practiced 100-150 shots Wednesday. I woke up Thursday with a real stiff knee. Even still, I went to stick n puck today. Well, a pick up game broke out, full ice, 5-5 no subs for a half hour. In addition to playing like fried shit, I severely aggravated an already existing knee strain. So now I don't think I can play in my league game this weekend or at all for a while, wee.
Drewhunz 3 Report post Posted April 10, 2010 Oooh sorry, I meant ESPN2. Thanks for the relevent addition to the thread. At least it wasn't the Ocho. They would have had a report during the tea interval ;)This is correct. UND doesn't own the rink, they lease it from the Englestads. It's a bummer though, the Sioux logo is great. The Fighting Sioux are being pushed further and further west until the Wyoming Cowboys do them in ;)
EBondo 243 Report post Posted April 10, 2010 Turns out I owe the state 242 bucks on top of the 136 I get refunded to me on my taxes, which puts me back probably closer to a month on my new car I was hoping for at the end of the summer <_<

dsjunior1388 81 Report post Posted April 10, 2010 If I was as bad at my job as Joe Buck is I'd be homeless.Oh God, I came here just because of him. Goes out of his way to jinx the hell out of CC Sabathias no hitter, I hate when they do that. Said "No-hit" or "No-hitter" or "Hasn't allowed a hit" at least 8 times in the eighth inning. CC gives up a hit with 2 outs, and later he asks McCarver if they talked about whether they said "no-hitter" or "perfect game" during David Cones perfect game. McCarver says yes, and Joe Buck says "There you go, myth debunked." It's not about a literal jinx, it's about 1 part superstition, 3 parts tradition. It's a matter of respect, and it's just the way baseball is done. It's that simple. Of course you aren't responsible for the hit, but it's an insult to fans of the game to stomp all over the traditions and ignore them like that.

JoeyJ0506 192 Report post Posted April 11, 2010 Received minor nerve damage to my right hand/wrist during my team's Florida trip. Initially was enough to keep me out of the last game of the southern swing... no big deal. Came home, had a specialist look at it, cannot really do anything without surgery, so I'm electing to ice/heat/painkillers until I get to a point where I'm willing to not play sports for a while while the surgery heals. All that to say this: double header yesterday get hit twice in the right wrist/hand in the same inning within 5 minutes. First my pitcher threw a slider that hit the front of the plate and drilled me on the inside of my thumb/palm/wrist. Next batter hits a ground ball to the shortstop with no one on base. I get up to back up the throw to first and the moron throws his bat backwards drilling me in the back of my hand/wrist. No playing time missed but throbbed and hurt the rest of the day.Wake up this morning, hand is black and blue and hurts like nothing I have experienced since I blew out my ankle playing volleyball. We'll see how this goes.No relief in the wrist the past two weeks from physical therapy, new doctor last week. Two X-Rays later I'm in a wrist/hand splint... Something about a partially torn ligament, ruptured tendon, and broken bones in my palm. Some of the diagnosis is pending an MRI Monday morning. The kicker is both my athletic trainer and original doctor said I could not make it worse by playing with it. Well, apparently playing for four weeks with something minor resulted in something major. I'm in the splint until at least May 6th. If there is no improvement by then it's surgery. I'm more upset about missing the final 20+ games of my senior season of college baseball, and possibly a significant chunk of summer baseball and hockey than I am about the actual injury. That, and this splint/brace is slowly starting to drive me insane... do you know how hard it is to get a wallet out of your back pocket when you cannot turn your wrist or articulate your hand? gxc999 7 Report post Posted April 11, 2010 (edited) I'm sitting out a league game tonight for the first time in... forever, because of my bad knee. I'm thinking it might be related partially to the fact that I have ZERO flexibility, so I've decided to undertake a serious regimen of stretching, and hope it helps before I consider any doctor related assistance. BenderHockey 127 Report post Posted April 13, 2010 Game last night:Towards the end of the first period, we start to break out of our defensive zone. I get the pass while at full (turtle) speed and get past the checker. Make a GREAT move on the defenseman at the blue line for a breakaway. Come down on the goalie, deke him out of his jock.... then fall on my ass before I can get a shot off. Set the tone for a jailhouse-style loss 10-3. It wasn't even as close as the scoreboard says.
