The Canadiens and Blue Jackets showed once again that effort beats contracts.

Super happy with these. Sadly not pro stock or 9144 but I’m super stoked. Jofa makes the best elbow pads in my opinion. Missed them. Time to sell my Bauer’s

HGTK are absolutely not a tighter fitting glove... Do you use tape or a tape alternative?

So, another day in the TF9, 2nd time on ice, 4h in total now. After replacing the tongue to the classic VH, ditching the footbed for my Superfeet Yellow, and getting waxed laces there is no significant difference in fit/feel my custom VH/True. The holder/steel took a bit of getting used to (will probably have to go shallower on the hollow), but now I really start to like it. I'm fairly confident on my edges, protection from shots seems good (although no full-on clappers to the side yet), starts and stops feel good, leading a power-skating session today without any issues. So far I am very happy - I will still do some DIY inserts into the toecap to reduce negative space (moving the tongue forward always created pressure points on the side of the boot) in the toe-cap, but the new TF9 will relegate my custom (2nd hand) True/VH to the backup-skate slot. I think True has a winner in this skate, even if the pricing is not as competitive in Europe as it is in the US/Canada. Even played with the idea of ordering another two sets in the US with that awesome deal mentioned earlier in this thread 😄

I have the HG97 ECHL and a HG98, both without the shot blockers and they are some of the most protective, tighter fitting 4 rolls. It's nothing like the retail models and the pro stocks one all have D3O instead of the D30 lite they use at retail. They are a bit heavier than the retail models but far more protective. I'd say they are more protective than the pro stock Bauer and Warrior gloves. I also have the FT1 in pro stock with the shot blockers and have the same comments as above. i compared them to the retail FT1's and it's night and day different in terms of protection. As far as sizing goes, I'm not totally sure but anything new that's been made after the HG96 series is the same length as retail from my experience. The 0.5 in long fit might have been true with the older pro stock gloves I tried on but aren't sure as I've only tried them on in passing but remember them fitting a bit looser than the retail equivalent at the time. The model stick9 is asking about is equivalent to the retail U+ CL model gloves and those did fit large. In particular, the finger lengths were really long. Those in pro stock, I've seen tons of variants but always fit extremely large...those in 14's felt like 15's in many gloves and hence, I never picked one of those up.

CCM pro stocks evidently fit .5" bigger than retail counterparts according to CCM in that thread I believe.

Ebays obviously been around a while so you shouldn’t have any worries. I’ve been a registered user with them since 2000 and can’t even think how many things I’ve bought/sold on the site. In 20 years maybe 3 problems and all were easily resolved

after making the purchase they update there website to say that they will only ship out in 3-4 weeks.

Also got an email this morning stating the small and medium chassis should ship out to users at the end of August. Was hoping they’d arrive for a birthday present but a few weeks late ain’t bad

While I'm not a fan of hotlinking, posting the date is fine. Those aren't really secrets, and judging from my current relationship state with that company, it isn't as if I would care much if it were.

Ankle flexion is critical if you want to get maximum power and edge bite, "controlled" ankle flexion of around 15 - 20 degrees from neutral is the optimal range. It's not pronation (or supination) as per se that is the issue, it's over pronation as your ankle collapses inwards under load that is the issue. I put it like this, if it wasn't for the boot holding you up you would fall to the ice. And if your ankle bending when doing a 2 foot glide in a straight line, you have alignment issues, regardless of how long you have been skating.

I use both. Only noticeable difference on the AS2 Pro to me is that the blade feels a bit stiffer, which I prefer. Otherwise, they feel very similar.

found this gem while in a youtube rabbit hole yesterday... I knew the logistics of a team on the road and how much work the trainers and crew put in, but I'm amazed at how much more extreme it is in the bubble, literally shuffling them back/forth multiple times a day, pretty nuts. These guys behind the scenes deserve a ton of credit for making this happen.

Thanks for your response. Can't say I've experienced the same thing with any shims I've created as they're shaped and drilled while stacked to maintain uniformity. I carry 1/16' and 1/8" LDPE sheets.

I guess I have some good news. I played in a pickup on Sunday, as I mentioned here: The guy told me said it was a D5 skate (the division I was previously playing in). It very much was not. Though, being a pickup it also wasn't as difficult as D4 (which I have subbed in a couple times when I got to the rink early for my game and their goalie got hurt or didn't show up and got LIT UP). It was basically D4/D5 mix of players playing at a level somewhere in-between. Anyway, that to me actually made it fun. The other pickup I've been playing in for years has definitely declined in skill level for the most part, which makes the 2-3 really good players basically just annoying because it's non-stop breakaways. This was way more fun than that. My legs were jello pretty quickly, and semblance of flexibility I had is completely gone, and my timing and angles are all totally hosed. But I don't care. It was fun because it was a challenge. I let the guy know afterwards that it was really fun and that it makes me much less disappointed not being on a league team knowing I could do pickups at this level. He asked me if I wanted to return and I happily agreed. So, looks like I now have a weekly ice time once again. Its at noon which is good and bad - good because its not 10PM, but bad because it basically kills my day. But I'm not about to complain, I'm just happy to be doing something again.
